It was called “Motoko Kusanagi’s Cream Soda.”
The soda was purple, and the ice cream on top was vanilla shaped like a brain.
The Gundam at the Expo looked like this.
The original artwork exhibition by Masamune Shirow looked like this. Usually, at original artwork exhibitions, the T-shirts sell out starting with the larger sizes (like L or LL), but this time, the S and M sizes sold out first. The designs that were popular sold out in all sizes, so even if you had asked me to get one for you, I probably wouldn't have been able to. If they do a post-event online sale, I'd consider it again. But I hear they're also holding an anime exhibition in Tokyo, so I'm curious about that too.
What I bought was a T-shirt with an illustration of Motoko by another manga artist, a tenugui towel, and some postcards. I also got a coaster after drinking a collaboration drink.
Basically, when it comes to asking someone to purchase goods or tickets for you, if the person isn’t a close friend you see in real life, it’s common to either pay or receive a “handling fee(shipping)”
When you think about the time spent going to buy something for someone, plus travel expenses and admission fees, it doesn’t feel right to just say “please buy it for me for the item’s price and shipping costs.” That would be taking advantage of the goodwill of someone you don’t know very well. That’s why I want to show appreciation or sincerity in the form of money, and I pay a “handling fee.” Just buying goods can involve standing in long lines, and sometimes items are rare or limited in quantity. Depending on the product, there may even be purchase limits per person.
With tickets, there are also issuing fees and online system usage fees, so when dealing with people you don’t know well, it’s common to handle ticket transfers at a price that includes those fees. In the case of concert seats, if it’s a good seat, sometimes I’ll pay a bit extra so that the person giving up the ticket can feel good about it. After all, the person usually wanted to go to the concert but can’t because something came up.
So, I’m not sure if I explained it clearly, but what I mean by a handling fee is something separate from the shipping cost and packaging fee when mailing a package.
As for EXPO 2025, I’m hoping I can see the show produced by Yoko Kanno from a good seat. By the way, I also bought the expo mascot doll back in May, so I already have one.
By the way, I plan to go to the Osaka exhibition on September 21. If you really want something, I’d like you to think about it more seriously and comment before then. But honestly, if you’re truly sure you want it, it would be better to use a professional proxy service, even if the fees are high, so you can guarantee getting the goods.
I'm actually going to the Shiro Masamune original art exhibition later this month! I'm thinking of buying a T-shirt as part of the merchandise.

Ah, the bullet train you rode! I haven't ridden it lately. I wondered what a zarigani was, and then I realized it was a game arcade. I don't go all the way to the arcade when I travel...
I've toured a sake brewery in another part of the country, and I remember it being pretty fun. I didn't do the tasting, though, because I had to drive on the way home.
By the way, was it the City Hunter DVD? Did you successfully buy that one with the extras?
I've never been to Studio ALTA, I've never been there before. I thought I liked the Shibuya crossing, people from overseas...so I realized it was one of the ones you traveled to and that it's still very popular.
In Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha, I never made it to the top. I feel like I always turn around in the middle of the trip due to lack of time. I didn't realize there was an iaido school...I never looked into that as a place to go sightseeing. You must have walked around a lot, even though you were sick in Kyoto.
Kobe has a wine image, so I didn't expect to see a sake brewery. I've toured sake breweries in my hometown, but they are pretty fun, aren't they?
I guess you traveled in late December, so everywhere you went must have been crowded with people.
