It's okay!! I haven't been logging here much as well ;;; hope you're doing well and had a nice birthday. Do you have enough time to spare on here to talk or would you rather converse here?
MichaelMyers-San Jul 7, 2020 9:44 PM
Happy Birthday Perci~ It's been a while since I've logged onto here and we've sent each other messages. I felt the need to get on MAL and wish you a happy Bday on here for sentimental reasons. I hope you have a wonderful belated birthday! (if you're able to respond to this message)

I'm neither good with analyzing shows or with words in particular. The easy anwer is it just resonated with me.

Slightly longer but still inadequate explanation - I like the general atmosphere of it. I like the mild colorscheme (I have a very slight adversion to all the superbright flashy colors in series of recent years), I love the beautiful music, i appreciate the slow contemplative feeling of the show.
I like how it depicts unspoken words and feelings, I like how it's just mellow and soothing, sometimes heartbreaking but more often heartwarming and endearing. I also think i happened to start watching it at a point where i was more susceptible to the themes of the show.

I like lots of series for lots of different reasons (several for pure entertainment value and nothing else) and these are some of the reasons why I love Natsume.

I want to ask a counter question about your favourite show but you only have one listed and I'm not sure if that's even your favourite anynmore, also noticed you have lots of unrated shows and some others rated 1 or 2 which I find curious.

Do you have any particular favourites and if so care to elaborate what makes you like them?

Commendable effort! I don't believe the last part though.

And if ever in a rough patch you can always enjoy a bit of sweet anime escapism and perhaps some unqualified advice from random MAL users

How is your own love life, cupid?

It would probably come in handy for story-boarding and concept design and whatnot, which is something I may end up needing with work with if I end up on a production team. More in that sense is what I mean in regards to communicating ideas. I stopped playing chess as much around middle school, mostly just because I was preoccupied doing other things at the time and I gradually fell out of the habit of doing it. There wasn't really anything about chess in particular that caused me to grow a distaste for it or anything, though it's interesting how that can happen as something established as routine for so long suddenly stops being so, and in turn stops being a part of one's life, sometimes without even noticing it.

I plan to go into game design in the future, so for me, knowing how to draw could end up being pretty useful. Being able to accurately represent things visually works well in communicating ideas to other people, so in that regard I find it almost essential. I see. I can understand that too; it has happened to me with some things in the past like chess, which I had played a lot while I was really young. Sometimes things do grow less interesting as you grow older, or once you enter a different frame of mind.

Well I had wanted to learn the majority of my life since it can overall be quite a useful skill to have, though I hadn't seriously approached it until rather recently. Prior, essentially everything I'd drawn for like two decades has been pretty awful so I had always thought I didn't have a natural affinity for it, but by now it's made clear that such isn't the case.
Konakana Mar 7, 2020 11:45 AM
I've had to start with the basics since I haven't really drawn much at all prior. Getting better at drawing from observation, whether it be simple forms or whatnot, trying to grasp how do shading on surfaces like metal or glass which are less obvious than other material objects. I initially struggled quite a bit with proportions and having clean lines, but I'm slowly getting there. I'll probably move on to doing more people at some point eventually.
