In just those twelve minutes, it reminded me of an important life lesson.
Recently, I have been having a rough time as I am getting ready to go to college, and am just been so stressed about so many different things. I haven't been as kind to others lately, and have just been spending time alone and isolated from my friends when I could be doing something else. I'm conscious of this behavior, but I just can't do anything about it.

out on opportunities that you will regret missing. Don't push those that care for you away, and remember that life is short, and every moment is important. Don't waste time on useless stuff, and just live so that you never regret.

Starting this series, I was pretty skeptical because it was not my usual genre and I feared that I would not enjoy it. Starting off, I was not enjoying myself. Watching the series was basically a chore that I had to finish. Hitting episode 10, I stopped watching. I did not completely remove this from my list, but I just couldn't handle it. Like how most people have heard, there are some yaoi/yuri scenes that I was not a huge fan of seeing in an anime. I'm not against that, but it was weird to watch since it's not something I'm used to. aren't many at all and are only seen in the first half of the series.
The series ended a few days ago. With new series coming in the spring, I wanted to clear my anime list and have it fresh with new anime. When I reached Shinsekai Yori, I decided to finish it. I am so glad that I made that decision. This anime evoked so many emotions all at once. I have not felt this way about an anime in a while, but it made me feel so good, so bad, so sad, everything throughout the series. I believe that I was not enjoying it as much as I should have because I was watching it one episode at a time and it seemed like it was going at such a slow pace. I think it was my problem that I need to marathon a series to get the whole feeling that the creators are trying to give you. Basically, this series gave me the feeling that I love after watching a great series. it does not happen all that much with a lot of anime. For me, a perfect anime is one that gives me chills down my spine, and a lovely feeling throughout my mind and body. This fits that bar perfectly. It's hard to express what I truly want to say about this, but I think that it is worth giving a chance. Don't refuse to watch it after hearing a few bad reviews, or not liking the genre. This anime can teach you so much about values, and life and will keep you on your toes the whole time you watch it.
For those who care about this, the art style is extremely vibrant and artistic. It uses the perfect colors at perfect time to help express the emotions that one should feel during a scene, and shows the beautiful yet horrid world the anime takes place.
The music is strong and fits just as well as the animation. There are a few base songs played throughout that bring you back to the previous episodes thus evoking emotion by creating a comparison between the two events. That may be hard to understand, but you would if you watch the series.
The characters were all so different and inspiring. I loved the main character so much. She seemed to be a bad one at first, but as it progresses, she grows into a respectable, strong, caring person who I have fallen in love with.
Overall, I enjoyed this series. As I've previously stated, it evoked all the emotions that I love feeling when watching an anime. It sends chills down my spines for being so perfect. I would not pass this anime up for dumb reasons. Give it a chance. Don't quit half way like I almost did, because I assure you, you may find something that you wouldn't believe to find from this anime.

Relationships are strong bonds which will never be broken. Even at large distances, the strong bonds that were built will always be there.
Ano Natsu de Matteru is an anime largely about relationships between high school friends. As they develop and change, the relationships get stronger, and the friends understand each other more.
Just from reading the synopsis it helped me see that this anime wouldn't just be another alien, romance, comedy. It is much more realistic and thought out than other anime with similar genres. I knew that this would be a more drama filled show than comedy. The comedy is lightly put in, and

the hurdles that are overcome between the friends are what makes it different. It shows real life situations instead of ones that are only created for the laughs.
The story portrays the relationships of the friends being built through trials. The romance is well put out. It isn't just one relationship, or a harem, or a love triangle. Love is found and lost with all the characters. Confessions are made throughout, and it isn't only just a one time confessions at the end, with the main couple getting together. I found the story really amazing. It made me think about relationships with others, and it wasn't all just straightforward. The relations are realistic and they portray the creation of friendships and relationships very well.
For art, it was a very vibrant and light colored show. Everything about it was bright, and colorful. The dark nights would be lighted by bright lights, stars, and the characters who were drawn very exuberantly. I received a warm feeling from watching this, and it made me wish for summer to come soon.
The background sounds help show the time of summer. The starting of the end song before the credits came gave the ending more feeling. Most of the endings of the episode would be something alarming happening, and a new trial would begin, or be completed. In the end, the feeling that we should be getting from the end is helped with the end song.
I loved all the characters. They all had flaws. They all had emotions. None of them were dumb characters who were only there to make things funny. They all had a purpose in increasing the strength of the bonds, and helped make the show more interesting when a new character arrived, causing emotions to run wild and problems to rise. The characters were fun, and very interesting to watch whenever they interacted with the others.
I highly enjoyed this anime. It reminded me a lot of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, or AnoHana for short. It was about friends and their relationships with one another. Trials were overcome, and in the end, the friends become closer to one another.
I believe anyone who likes Slice of Life, Drama, Comedy, and Romance would love this anime. The light-heartedness of this anime is very calming and tranquil. The emotions received makes one think a lot about life. This anime was much better than I expected. I was still expecting something very good, but It wasn't all comedic and fake like I thought it would be. The realism greatly impacted me and made the show much better.
Friends are your life, and they will always be there to support you when something happens.

Many believe that love is eternal, and that even after death those who love, will always love. Some may disagree, but I believe that romance will last forever, as long as the two who are in love, love the other until death. Romance is not spoiled by trying to make it last forever. If the ones in love don't believe it will last forever, then they most likely have doubt in their love, and it will most likely end at some point.

opening may have seemed random, but it helps me describe what I want to say.
Amagami SS, doesn't allow the thought of love lasting forever to occur for very long. The relationships that were built, crumble into nothing when the story moves to the next arc. When I finished the series, I couldn't find enjoyment from the romance as much, because I don't know what actually occurred. My disbelief of this anime centralizes on one question, who did the protagonist end up with? This question can not be answered because, the protagonist ended up either with none of them, or all of them. But for either of those answers to happen, it would have to be either a dream, or there would be multiple dimensions where the protagonist falls for each girl.
You may be saying right now that "anime isn't real, stop putting so much thought into it", but let's think of it like it actually is real. The most likely occurrence would be that this was a dream. I can't go with the multiple dimension option because I don't know for sure if there actually are, so I'm choosing the more realistic thought. The problem is, nowhere in the anime does it say that it's a dream, which disapproves that idea.
So basically, with all of that ranting over, I'm trying to say one thing, why did it have to be split into different arcs? I'm not saying I'm unhappy with it, because my favorite heroines got the guy, but it doesn't allow any story to grow.
So, let me explain what I like when I watch romance anime. I enjoy happy endings where my favorite heroine gets with the protagonist. It sometimes doesn't work out like how I want it to, but if the ending is a good one, then I will most likely enjoy it overall. I like a central storyline about the love interest with possible multiple heroines, but without the harem ending. I think the protagonist should choose instead of messing with all the girls and trying to keep them all. Sometimes the person who's picked may seem like a dumb decision to me, but at least it doesn't end without a decision. The heroine can't be a complete idiot, or someone who is really lame, but somehow always does the right thing, and obtains the girl. The story can't be too cheesy and have things that would never happen, actually occur. Romance anime should be made with at least some sense of reality.
Oh, also I hate super, perverted protagonists. For example Ichigo 100% (he really bugged me). A little perversion is fine, as long as it isn't taken to a whole new level.
Well, actually the perversion in this was sort of taken to a new level, in a funny way, not a super annoying, ecchi way. (You will see when you watch the first and second arc.)
Now back to the review.
Amagami SS defies what I look for in a romance anime in both a good way and a bad way. It splits the story up into 6 different parts, one for each heroine (plus a final episode for an extra heroine). The plus side to this is that all the heroines get a chance to be with the protagonist. Nobody is left in the dust with unrequited feelings, and all the characters are happy. The one thing that I truly dislike is that, after one arc, the relations that were built are reset, basically saying that the story had no meaning behind it. I'm not saying that I rather have a harem where the protagonist gets all of them at once and everyone miraculous agrees to it (which happens in a lot of harems), but I think the story should have only focused on one love, or make him to choose in the end (which would be a great twist that doesn't happen in many anime).
How the story is split really effects the chance to know the characters better, and to like them more too. It pains me to see the protagonist interacting with the females from the older episodes when it's brought to a new arc. Nothing beforehand happened, and it's basically a new anime with the same characters. I know it's based off a dating sim game, but it doesn't need to go down all the different paths.
I sort of went off on a tangent with my rant on why the separate arcs bugged me, so I'll get back on track.
The story is basically six different stories which I enjoyed on the most part. But, as I was saying before (without digressing from the review) it's not enough for each character, and I think more of a story should be put into it.
(Note - I know Amagami SS+ plus is out but I'm writing this as if I didn't know about it.)
The art is a more realistic type. It doesn't have any unproportionate characters, with wacky hair colors.
(Note - I don't really look into the art as much when watching anime so sorry if what I said doesn't help at all.)
The sound is splendid. I highly enjoyed the second op, and a lot of the random music put throughout which makes the scenario even more interesting. Each arc also has the seiyuu singing their own ending. I didn't enjoy the endings so much, but that's just my preference.
(Note - I also don't really look into the music very much when watching anime, but I did hear many little tunes that do add a great touch to the story.)
The characters are wonderful on the most part, but you don't really get to know them due to the way it's split into arcs. The protagonist, Tachibana Junichi sort of falls into traditional harem protagonists. One who is perverted (only a bit), had trouble with girls in the past, innocent with girls, and other things that I'm too tired to list, but you most likely get it. Junichi, isn't fully like the harem protagonist, but I'm only saying this because Amagami SS isn't really a harem, so it's hard to explain.
Overall, this anime was a fun one to watch. Nothing really disappointed me other than the way it's split and how short each arc was. I enjoy seeing all the girls ending up with the guy instead of allowing the story to end as a harem.
So, basically if you enjoy a good romance, I would recommend this, as long as you're fine with it focusing on six different short stories instead of one.

Steins;Gate is truly my favorite anime that I have seen so far. At first it may seem a bit confusing to understand, but as it continues, the story grows and latches on to you, making it impossible to stop watching it.
Story: 10
I gave the story a ten because it's very unique and not like any anime I have seen so far. What may seem to be a serious sci-fi anime, turns out to be one filled with romance, and comedy. The story is well made and makes me want to watch more about the characters lives in the future.
Art: 10

It can be very light and fun to watch and also very dark for those serious moments. I'm not that picky when it comes to the art style, but I did find the art in Steins;Gate well done.
Sound: 9
The opening theme for this song is truly amazing. I loved it and it matched the theme pretty well. The sound in each episode was lacking in the first few episodes, but it got much better when it added light music instead of cicadas chirping or other miscellaneous sounds.
Character : 10
There are so many different varieties of characters in Steins;Gate. My favorites are Okabe Rintarou, Makise Kurisu, and Itaru "Daru" Hashida. Okabe is very humorous and can be very crazy at points. He is also very kind and serious when a problem occurs. Makise Kurisu is a light tsundere. She isn't very pushy and harsh, but can be "mean" towards Okabe and Daru. She is very helpful towards Okabe and truly kindhearted. In my opinion, she is one of the most well made female characters in all the anime I have watched. Lastly is Daru. He is a nerdy otaku who is perverted, but is actually a very important character. He is the one who does the work in the lab, and still finds time for his own hobbies, such as visiting May Queen Nyan Nyan and Doujinshi events. I found all the characters in Steins;Gate vert well made and indifferent from characters in other works.
Enjoyment: 10
I truly enjoyed watching Steins;Gate. At first, it may seem tough to follow, but in the end, it turns out to be wonderful, and gave me a warm feeling inside.
Overall: 10
Overall, this anime was amazing. There was barely anything I disliked. The story was well made, the characters were different, and I can tell a lot of work was put into the creation of it. Steins;Gate may seem very lighthearted, but as it continues on, the lives of the characters change and they must go through a lot to revert back to a good life.
