The story is "okay" for this kind of "trash", it is nothing special. The English dub is surprisingly good, for how low-budget this show feels. The only problem with the English dub was how they translated Shouma's fetish as "having thing for petite", while he has clear "loli" fetish. He does not want them to just look petite, he wants them acting like kids, which is weird on itself, but with this bad translation it is even weirder.

Both Japanese and English version seem to use same voice actors as the shows from which they borrow characters, which is nice.
The overall story is kind of nonexistent so you can watch random episodes and still enjoy them. Episodes are short but pack full of jokes. The only downside is that you should watch the original shows first or you wont understand like 3/4 of the jokes. The art style is simple, since it is just chibis, but at times it feels too simple. The biggest problem is that there is too many characters and not all of them get the same screentime.

This anime has seems to have an identity crisis, it has no idea if it want to be taken seriously or not. Tries to tell an "adult" story, but with children's logic. The whole world it builds is based on silly concepts that does not make sense. It is like somebody read old conspiration theories and based their worldview on them.
The whole logic of the "waste war" is flawed, starting a war to gain enemy resources is one thing and it could make sense, but bombing your enemy with nukes while your objective is to obtain more basic resources (like food)from them is retarded. Resources ...

The premise of the first part of the season (Aincrad arc) is really good, the only problem is how it ends and how it is "explained". The second part of the season (Alfheim arc) feels rushed and pointless. They should have stayed in Aincrad for whole season and add more shenigans with supporting characters. For example it would be nice to see why Agil is actually Kirito's friend or how he supposedly helped players. Too much stuff happens offscreen and is only mentioned in dealogue.
