I liked the ending of Made in Abyss per say that it stresses the ongoing nature of the narrative while still giving a sense of closure and emotional satisfaction. I know the manga isn't that far and sales number just appeared for the first volume and 5.3k isn't too bad to get a second season.
Winter was the crapshoot season with at least Rakugo which is damn fine as it carried off the season for me. I also enjoyed KonoSuba 2, Exorcist 2, Acca13, and LWA.
Spring had the highly anticipated Shingeki 2, Academia 2 so I found Spring to be more well-rounded with Tsuki ga Kirei topping the season.
Summer had MiA, but also had many solid shows such as Ballroom e Youkoso, Princess Principal, Nana Maru San Batsu, Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun, New Game!!
Fall has MnY and a lot of sequels so I guess it isn't that bad.
I started a rough draft of my top ten shows of the whole year yesterday and atm it's 70% sequels. Yikes.
I did check Shoujo Shuumatsu and it might be good, the score on MAL is quite high and Jerome really likes it as well. But personally I didn't feel like watching much more of it after the first episode. I'll wait till that show is done to see how it goes.
Our list are similar!?!? Except I actually think this season is quite disappointing. I usually have no problems finding shows to watch in a season and have to cut back to match fifteen shows, but when I can't really find an exact fifteen shows that I do wanna watch this season then it gets kind of iffy. I do think this season is saved by sequels, but I personally like seeing a season's list of non-sequels take up my top slots. MnY doesn't disappoint, but it's the only one on the top five of my list to be a non-sequel.
imo 2017 looks like Summer > Spring >>>>>>> Winter > Fall. And it's also shaping up to be imo worse than 2016, though to be honest 2016 was a very good year for anime. Winter 2018 looks like it's gonna be good so I'll just say it's the calm before the storm.
