Both series are incredibly introspective series. The main characters are both melancholic but not to the point of being annoying. In fact, they both work quite well with the tone of the series (dealing with doubts and anxiety that come with pursuing a profession at a young age). Also, the supporting cast can be quite uplifting while also dealing with complex issues of their own. Overall, I'd say Rakugo is a little darker in tone as it deals with subjects such as death. However, 3-gatsu is no lightweight either as it deals with subjects such as child abuse but it definitely carries a lighter tone.

Both shows feature a fairly mature plot with kids taking on impossible odds. This may sound like most shonen however the unique thing about both shows is that there isn't much fighting at all. If you like watching shows were the young protagonist tries to outwit a much older antagonist and if you like stories with darker themes then these shows are for you.

Both series are made by BONES so you know the animation is going to be awesome. They also both feature lots of comedic moments with a slice of life vibe. They also feature some serious undertones mixed with a heartwarming message. Both authors created the shows with a sentimental spirit in mind but you'll still have a gut-busting good time. Most importantly, the cast of characters in both shows are absolutely lovable to the point you forget that both shows don't really have a "plot".

The personalities of Abeno and Ashiya remind me of Tazuki and Sora. Both series also have a cute mascot (Moja & Mii-kun) while featuring other creatures on an episodic basis. Both series are recommended if you're looking for a slow-paced, cute, relaxing series.

Both series involve the protagonist using time travel to solve their problems. Boku Dake ga inai Machi deals with heavier issues and more realistic issues (like bullying and child abuse) while Re:Zero is set in a fantasy and therefore the problems are more set in fantasy although still applicable to real life (discrimination). Both series are for anime fans that enjoy darker anime.

Both shows offer a relaxing slice of life vibe while offering relatable characters (if you can ignore the fact that Ansatsu Kyoushitsu has a yellow octopus admist it all). Plus each show uses their medium (farming or assassination) to develop their characters while tackling real world issues on top of having large amounts of humor. I'd say the main difference between these shows is that Gin no Saji might not be for everyone (dealing with animal birth/death) while Ansatsu Kyoushitsu is more "accessible".

Both series feature absurd humor. In a way, these series are similar to what one would see on adult swim where the humor is not afraid to be mean-spirited or sometimes be cringey yet still funny. If you're sick of typical anime humor then I recommend both series for a nice change of pace.

Do you like historical/battle action shows with AWESOME sword fights? The main difference between the shows is that the world in Token Ranbu definitely has a touch of fantasy whereas Rurouni Kenshin has a realistic setting but if you like well choreographed fights and shows set in historical japan than give these series a try.

I'm really surprised no one has done this. Both Kekkai Sensen and Mob psycho feature an insecure boy trying to figure out life and their powers. Both protagonists have passive personalities. Both have a totally different visual style but feature unique animation. If you like lovable scumbags that somehow develop the MC (aka- Reigen/Dimple for MPO or Libra for BBB) then I would recommend this.

Both anime are stylish. Both have a really wacky but really fun storyline (though Kekkai Sensen has some more seriousness to its plot) Both have beautiful, creative animation done by BONES. Both feature exotic-other worldy settings and creatures.

Both are made by the same author Nightow. Both of them have uniquely zany characters and humor with a sci-fi setting. Both of the main characters Vash and Leo are kind-hearted although I'd probably compare Klaus as the Vash "equivalent" since he's the strong unwavering character like Vash. Although there isn't much of a solid plot yet in Kekkai Sensen, if you are a fan of Nightow his way of story telling alone should be enough to make one enjoy this series.

Both anime deal with exorcism and both of the protagonists have a cursed arm which allows them to fight. The atmosphere of both series is quite dark for most shounens. Main difference is that Sousei's protagonist is more hot-headed than D.gray-man's.

Both Anime are done by Bones studio. Both anime feature a wide array of colorful characters with an under-powered protagonist. Both anime have a jazzy style.
