I watched Death Billiards a long time ago, before Death Parade was even released. I loved it, and wished there was more. The story was engaging, leaving the audience with nagging questions of humanity. What the younger guy said at the end really got to me, it was so powerful. I would fully recommend this movie, it was beautifully done. I'm partial to animes that don't give us full answers, let us decide for ourselves. I am very much sad that Death Billiards was so overlooked, not many people know about it. I personally love this art style, and I think it fits really well ... with the story. The music was fantastic, really fit the mood. It's a big oof when this one episode contains more character development than some 24 episode animes. If you've watched this, go watch Death Parade, if you've watched Death Parade, go watch this.

This is pretty meh, not gonna lie. I was debating a 6 or a 7, but I decided a 7 because of some of the characters. The story itself is fairly generic, a clumsy, weak knight who needs someone to save her all the time. The main character, Cecily (don't worry she says who she is like before every fight I probably will never forget her name) grew on me at times. She started off annoyingly weak, but got stronger (?) (sometimes). She tended to kind of be in everyone's business, but she did it with good intentions, and I respect that. She has an ... insane sense of justice, like maybe even Seryu levels. She's the kind of character that likes to talk during battles, which had my eyes rolling a few times. Although there was a lot about that anime that wasn't that great, there were some funny moments. There were a few cool fight scenes (if you cut out the conversation) and some of the characters were really enjoyable. Seiken no Katanakaji is pretty average, so if you watch it, keep that in mind, Don't go in it expecting the best because you'll be disappointed. However, you sometimes come to expect it with these types of animes that are 1 season with 12 episodes.

Ahhh, Maoyuu. I originally watched this thinking it was a romance anime (what can I say? I'm a sucker for enemies turned lovers). I was pleasantly surprised when the romance soon wasn't the foreground anymore. This anime has a very Spice and Wolf feel to it. Especially Maou, she is crazy analytical, she wants to end the demon-human war, but not by decisive battles, she wants it to come to a negotiated close. She doesn't necessarily want one victor over the other. It's quite clear, her intentions. Her character is amazing, she may be a woman who is very bouncy, but she's also very intelligent! ... The character development of the "Older Sister Maid' was absolutely fantastic. (Reference to episode 9-won't say more because spoilers) Maoyuu feels like a nice change to common fantasy animes that can get too caught up in their lore, it then feels almost lethargic. This one takes a different stance that feels very refreshing. The battle scenes are super op, the main ones at least, but that didn't bother me too much since Maoyuu doesn't rely on that. There is one battle scene in particular I really enjoyed and pretty much erased the OP factor, even if only for a bit. The story did feel rushed in some areas, but with something like this getting 12 episodes that's almost a given. I really wish this would have gotten a season 2. They could've done so much with it.

Mayo Chiki is an anime that I've seen three times now, each viewing with a sizeable amount of time in between. I've enjoyed it completely each time. The story keeps me watching. It's simple on paper yet the anime draws out its full potential. There is a substantial amount of ecchi, even some nudity ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but they're so ridiculous half the time you can't not laugh. (The glasses scene-yeah if you've watched this then you know what I'm talking about). This is definitely something I would recommend to someone, especially if they're in the mood for comedy. I think Konoe's ... character in particular was done beautifully. We see that harsh dynamic between when she's acting like a butler and when she's acting like a real girl. I really appreciate the duality.

Hinamatsuri is a fantastic experience. The whole notion of this yakuza member taking care of this child that fell literally from the sky out of nowhere is extremely comedic. That's all I was expecting. I was really surprised by how enthralling the story line was. It was simple, yet done in this tasteful way, which, is mostly owed to the plethora of lovable characters. This is really a heart-warming journey, the character development is so satisfying. I do hope this gets a second season. I could not have picked a better anime to get me out of my slump. This anime is the type that ... gives you all those nice warm fuzzy feelings inside (not THOSE feelings ya perv). It's the kind that makes me appreciate everything I have so much more.

This is only a recap episode, it doesn't have to be watched, not pertinent to the story. That being said, I don't think you could watch this as a substitute for episodes 1-9. It leaves out a lot of important information. Some of those concepts are somewhat complicated, and require more than a sentence to fully explain. They leave out some characters in this recap, as well as some plot points. However, the way the did this was interesting. Instead of having a narrator give an overview, they had "storytellers", which was a nice change of pace from usual recap episodes. Brownie points for that.

Darling in the FranXX wasn't this terrible monster everyone makes it out to be. In my opinion it wasn't all that good, but not terrible. It was kind of generic, predictable, kind of confusing plot holes at times. It you look past that and try not to take this show too seriously, it's not bad. Episodes 1-15 were definitely better, after it kind of went downhill. I feel like the creators didn't bide their time well, they crammed in some things where they should have been drawn out and focused on areas that weren't as important. This anime could have been a lot better if ... it was divided in two seasons. There's kind of a huge shift about halfway, so I think it really would have benefited to spend more time on each half individually rather than forcing it into a whole. That being said, this anime reminds me quite a bit of Sword Art Online. It doesn't focus on the fighting as much as the romance and interactions between characters. The fight scenes themselves seem like re-runs of each other after you see the first couple. This show makes it VERY clear who the important characters are, some don't really get touched on at all and others have their one episode and fade into the background again. This anime is not the best, yes it could have been better, but it wasn't horrible. I would say give it a shot, try and push through (looking at the reviews many stopped at around episode 6 with a rating of 1-3). Go into this anime with an open mind. It requires that especially with all the negative comments.
