Shoukoku no Altair is a historical fiction centered around the young Mahmut Tuğrul as he struggles with his desires for peace while simultaneously having to get himself deeper in the war that is raging between the two major powers of the Türkiye Stratocracy and the Balt-Rhein Empire. My general opinion of the anime is that it is a fantastic take on this particular type of show where politics, war & war tactics are at the forefront of the show's focus. Also I think that the show is criminally underrated if I'm being honest. Most of the criticisms of the show I've heard of were mostly
...
pertaining to the show's pacing so keep that in mind if you are looking to get into Shoukoku no Altair.
I thought the story for Shoukoku no Altair was outstanding. The premise is similar to some shows that have come before it but the way everything was executed, was interesting. I especially liked how the politics of the show was handled and how it connected well with the war aspect, whether it be with the two major powers or the many smaller nations/empires involved.
The art and animation were nice and clean. It was nothing spectacular but at the same time it was above average. The soundtrack for Shoukoku no Altair was great and I thought it fit really well with the tone as well as the general setting of the show.
The characters of the show is probably it's weakest point. It's fun to see the dichotomy of Mahmut Tuğrul's character. A pacifist that often has to lead the frontlines of battle and has to take responsibility for the lives of many. The supporting cast around Mahmut as well as the antagonists are good in their own right, it's just that there isn't any deep characterization to be found from them in my opinion.
Shoukoku no Altair was enjoyable from the first episode to the last through its various arcs. It took some things that I like from its genre and went a bit deeper with it and I think the show was well done overall. I highly recommend you give this an anime a watch.

Juuni Taisen is a battle royale where the characters face off against each other until there is an eventual winner. The differentiating factor here from other similar shows that have come before Juuni Taisen is that there is a tie-in with the Chinese zodiac in that each warrior represents a sign.
I walked in with the expectation that the action might be decent and the story would be mediocre(as is the case with most anime of this type). What I got was something slightly different from those expectations. The story had a very strong start with it's first episode and set the tone well for the
...
rest of the series. However even in the first episode, it was easy for me to guess who the winner of the Juuni Taisen might be and this was eventually confirmed be the spoilerish ending song(My suggestion would be to not look at the visuals for the ED if you don't want to know the outcome of how the battle plays out beforehand).
Another thing that slightly irked me initially was that the outcome of the fights between the characters felt underwhelming when compared to the expectations I had in my head as the fights lacked the action I was looking for. However upon thinking about it, the fights felt more realistic in that all it takes is for the slightest mistake/miscalculation to occur or even just being unlucky on that particular day for your life to be forfeit. I was able to appreciate what the show was trying to do more after making this realization.
I loved the art style of the show and I thought the character designs were interesting in particular. The animation in comparison was average most of the times with 3D animation being utilized for some of the fights scenes. The 3D wasn't horrible and I had no problems with it, it's just something to make note of. The soundtrack was barely noticeable but at the same time I can't say it was bad either.
I thought that the characters of the show were very likable and entertaining and made my watching experience of Juuni Taisen a very easy one. A negative aspect for me in my opinion is that even though most characters got backstories(try to ignore the death-flags that these stories cause), it still feels like the character development in the show was slightly lacking. Then again, I didn't need that much more character development in a battle royale to begin with.
Although the result of the Juuni Taisen became predictable rather quickly, the anime was enjoyable and I was always looking forward to the new episodes as they came out to see how the battle royale would develop. I'd like to note here that the show had a strong conclusion and I thought the way it was executed was excellent. Juuni Taisen isn't necessarily a show I would recommend to anyone but personally it was one that in the end, I was happy and satisfied that I watched it.

Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Sho-bitch na Ken would fall into the category of the standard ecchi comedy which comes out every season. Unfortunately this show is average at best in a lot of departments. The main draw of the show in my opinion is it's comedy in which sex jokes are utilized. Even then, it takes until the mid-point of the series for the comedy to really get good, prior to which everything felt a little bland.
There is no meaningful story to be found here and the romance between two of the main characters Haruka Shinozaki and Akiho Kousaka is just there to mainly
...
facilitate the comedy.
The art style was good and I thought that the ecchi scenes were well done and complimented the humor very nicely. The OST in itself is average at best however the use of soundtrack to enhance certain moments has to be noted. Also the great use of the sound effects went a long way in making the dirty jokes as funny as they are.
The two main characters of the show are for the most part uninteresting and this is the reason why a lot of the first half of the show felt bland to me. The show really benefits from a cast of funny side characters that ultimately makes Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Sho-bitch na Ken worth the watch. Some examples of my favorite side characters would be Seiya Hoshikawa and Sayo Shizumori.
If you are a fan of crude humor, then you might be able to get a fair amount of enjoyment out of this show. If this is not the case then I think it would be safe to pass on watching this.

Net-juu no Susume was the standard romance-comedy most may be accustomed to seeing but it had some little changes to that formula here and there to differentiate itself from its contemporaries. Where this anime really excels in though is in its execution. It kept a really good consistency in its quality throughout its run time which was slightly shorter than usual at ten episodes.
The story centers around the 30 year old Moriko as she withdraws from society and begins to interact with people in the online world of games where she feels more comfortable. It is interesting to note that the potential romance that takes
...
place with the main pair in the story are between two grown adults so that in itself lends itself to differences in how the story will be handled with the caveat being that both of them are socially awkward people. While I thought everything ended of nicely in the show, I thought it would have benefited greatly if the side characters maybe got a little more development seeing as some potential story lines were already set up from early on.
I thought the art style was well done in that it was very colorful yet I didn't feel like it was overdone. The soundtrack for the most part was unnoticeable but at the very least I can't say that it was bad.
Net-juu no Susume had a nice cast of characters. Moriko was very adorable and funny in all her awkward glory. Yuuta has a heart of gold which matched his various online personas. Homare has a good and infectious kind of personality and is the best wingman Yuuta could ever ask for. The rest of characters that didn't get much development within the season are all likable in their own right.
I got a lot of enjoyment from this show and it was a nice show to look forward to each week. If you're looking for a new rom-com to watch then I recommend that you give Net-juu no Susume a try.

The Reflection was the result of a collaboration of sorts between the comic book writer Stan Lee and Studio Deen. I was initially excited to watch the show because the studio behind it had done some excellent work recently and I thought it would be interesting to see what ideas Stan Lee would bring to the table. Unfortunately all of that changed upon watching the first episode of the anime.
The story is probaby the best part about the show. It is a very classic superhero story that one would be accustomed to seeing in comic books. The fight between the forces of good and evil
...
that were exposed to The Reflection with the normal humans stuck in the middle of them is very reminiscent of one of Stan Lee's earlier works by the name of "X-Men". Even as this anime takes inspiration from that successful formula, it still suffers from many issues that in the end makes for a very mediocre story.
Moving from the best part to the worst part, the animation was in no uncertain terms, horrendous and hideous to the point where I wondered if whoever was in charge of animating the show was taking this work seriously. It's a shame too, because while the art wasn't all that great, it was at least unique and it reminded me of what I might see in a comic book so I thought it was a great fit for the anime. Unfortunately the bad animation just drags the decent art down along with it.
The soundtrack was mediocre in my opinion but what was worse was that the way the soundtrack was used was bad. An easy example to bring up would be the song "Sky Show" which was used multiple times within a single episode to the point of annoyance. The sound design of many of the sound effects were not well done with many of the hits lacking any sort of impact.
The characters in The Reflection were either very bland or had irritating personalities. The biggest culprit of this would be Exon, one of the main characters. His stand-offish and quiet demeanor instead of creating and air of mystery around as intended, just makes him seem contemptible and obnoxious.
I got little to no enjoyment from The Reflection and it's a wonder how I was able to stick with it until the end. It isn't even the hilarious type of bad where you could enjoy watching as the train wreck happens. It is my strong recommendation that you save your time and avoid this anime.

While season 1 was very good I didn't think it was great as most thought it was. It served more as an introduction to the characters and the world of Boku no Hero Academia. This 2nd season on the other hand I thought the anime really came into it's own and showed why it's such a great shounen. The story was a lot more exciting this time around with great arcs coming one after the other.
The art and animation was of the same high quality that season 1 had and Studio Bones did well in emphasizing certain important moments when they needed too. The soundtrack
...
was mostly the same from the previous season or some tracks had some slight alterations done to them. The characters were really able to get some much needed development this season. Tenya Iida and Shouto Todoroki in particular deserve special mention in this regard.
Boku no Hero Academia was near perfect this season and was highly enjoyable and entertaining. It's one of the best shounen you'll watch and I can't wait to watch more of it in the future.

As far as sequels go, I think Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul did a decent job. The story focuses on a new character Nina this time around and the old characters such as Favaro and Kaiser, while still important to the story, they play more of a supporting role this season. I thought the story was enjoyable overall although I'm probably being more lenient than most others. The writing in the story does have it's issues, especially in the second half of the season.
The art and the animation were outstanding and I feel as if it was a step up from what the first season
...
was if I'm remembering it right. Also the soundtrack did a fabulous job of setting the atmosphere for the anime. The characters were good but the way some of them were handled could have been better.
Overall I had a great time with Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul and I thought it was near the level of where the previous season was.

If I were to try and describe Jikan no Shihaisha, I would say it's your standard battle shounen story executed very poorly. The story was more poorly written than what had expected it would be. Sometimes shounen don't necessarily need an excellent story to be entertaining however it's hard to put the story of this anime to the back of your mind when it sticks out like an eyesore. It's not even like the story is the worse thing about the show, the main reason why it's not enjoyable is the characters. Jikan no Shihaisha has some of the most annoying characters I have seen
...
in quite some time. A special mention to Mina Putin for being the most annoying out of the bunch.
For as bad as the story and characters were, the show was actually well produced. The art, animation and soundtrack were all very well done and made my watching experience slightly better.
I still think however that it would be best to save yourself the trouble and stay away from Jikan no Shihaisha.

I heard murmurs in the beginning that Made in Abyss would be an anime to keep my eye on. From the very first episode I understood why that was being said. It set the tone perfectly for what I could expect from the rest of the series. I thought the anime was very well produced and had a captivating story. It would be easy to assume that the show is more on the lighthearted end of the spectrum. Even with all the trouble Riko and Regu got into earlier on, there was still the sense that they were safe. However the deeper they got into
...
the abyss, it became apparent the dangers the characters would be constantly facing on their journey. A tiny gripe I have with the story is that I thought the pacing of the story felt a little off at times.
The art is gorgeous in particular, the work on the background was some of the best I've seen for a TV series. The animation was surprisingly well done as well.
The soundtrack is beautiful, unique and fits the atmosphere of the series perfectly. The characters were interesting, quirky and slightly mysterious. There is still a lot of room for character development especially with the main cast as by the end of the anime it feels like the group is only now beginning their adventure as opposed to the season just ending.
I'll conclude by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this show and that Made in Abyss is a definite must-watch anime.

What you will get with 18if is a mixed bag. The anime is based on a game and each episode has a different director from what I've heard. What we get as a result is a story which feels episodic up until the end of the series. I absolutely loved some of the episodes and thought the way they were handled was creative and intriguing. Other episodes just felt okay in comparison.
The art and animation were fine but with each episode with a different witch having a different direction, inconsistencies are to be expected. The soundtrack wasn't all that great but I want to point
...
out that I appreciated that each episode of 18if had a different ending theme and I had a lot of songs that I enjoyed listening to out of the bunch.
My interest in the characters didn't really come from a desire to get to know and become attached to them. It was to see what kind of story the different witches brought each week and to see if we get any clues about the main character, Haruto because for most of the series his backstory is a mystery.
I enjoyed my time with 18if and although I think the ending was a bit anticlimactic, I think it was unique enough to warrant watching.
