Series belonging in this category are subjectively perfect. That is not to say that objectively viewing the series won't reveal flaws here and there but that these flaws are practically irrelevant and does not inherently affect the series in a negative way that negates the impact(s) of its positive aspects.
Series in this category are just flat out amazing, similar to series rated an 8, series belonging to this category manages to significantly impact the viewer many times with the same magnitude each and every time. Viewers are able to very strongly connect to both the stories and the characters within. Despite fairing really well however, the series either fails to 'push' further and break through the boundaries of just being really really good or has a fairly small amount of negative aspects that do affect the series in a detrimental manner.
8 Very Good
Series in this category not only keep the viewer significantly engaged throughout the series but also leave a long lasting impression on them. It manages to dish out and convey a strong enough impact to the viewer. Needless to say, one can expect to enjoy and connect to series in this category.
Series in this category are a fun and enjoyable watch/read and manages to keep the viewer engaged from throughout with occasional ups and downs; said 'ups' however lack enough 'impact' to leave a significant lasting impression on the viewer.
Series in this category are bland and fail to not only leave a lasting impact on the viewer and as well as not being able to engage the viewers thoroughly enough to have them watch/read the series in full, but also fail to rectify any of the aforementioned issues at any point.

3 Very Bad
Series in this category are not worth your time, and aside from an extremely minute amount of positive aspects, the material is horrible to the core.
Series in this category are an absolute and utter waste of time. With the exception of animation/art (and OST), every aspect of the given material from plot to characters to character development to pacing and everything else have been executed really really really badly that they might as well not be present to begin with.
(—) 'Rating' I give to anime/manga that I either haven't been completed or have not watched/read in a long time making rating rather inaccurate to how it would've been after having just recently watched/read said anime/manga
Notes: • It goes without saying, but this criteria is heavily subjective
• I understand the importance of Animation, Art Style and Soundtracks in shaping one's perspective, immersion and enjoyment of a series, however, I don't believe that scores should be wildly affected by them, and as such I factor aforementioned aspects in alongside my personal enjoyment of a series as opposed to rating them separately
