As someone who was very skeptical going into this, I have to say it was honestly worth the watch.
The TLDR, Pros and Cons for all of you wondering about how ‘creepy’ this anime really is and if you should watch it:
Pros:
All the characters are like able. They’re not overly dramatic and are very realistic. They’re all mature about handling their feelings, which is a huge breath of fresh air.
The art and designs are pretty good too, and the OP and ED may be in my top 3 of the season.
All of the characters reflect on their actions and grow from them, especially
...
the male lead who is deemed as “creepy.” I was honestly nervous watching him throughout the whole way, but the last few episodes really solidified his character and growth for me
The female lead, Ichika, is a pretty normal girl, but she’s honest about her feelings and doesn’t let Ryo push her too far, and knows where to draw the line. This balance is what makes the show work.
The series also has a conclusive and very satisfying ending. Unlike most shows that get worse as they go on, the finale really made the anime for me.
Age gap is properly addressed by many others as well as Ichika and Ryo.
[SPOILER (May be important to know if you are considering watching tho)]
Ichika and Ryo decide to wait until she is an ADULT before formally getting together. Big pog!!!
Cons:
Ryo is creepy. He just is. For the first half of the anime, he calls, follows, and flirts with her, giving her unconditionally unwanted attention. This is played off as a comedic gag, but the series touches over these issues several times and does not brush over them. Nevertheless, he is creepy.
The sound for the VAs in the first few eps is rough, assuredly due to COVID restrictions. This didn’t stop me from watching, but it did make those scenes less immersive, so beware.
The other 3 supporting characters don’t really get a conclusion of their own. This may or may not be touched upon in the manga, but as an anime only, I was slightly dissatisfied.
Overall, good show, better than I thought it’d be, and if you like romcoms that don’t drag on with misunderstandings and have good pacing, give this a shot!

This show, put simply, is good. It is not amazing or thrilling, and it definitely isn’t bad or disturbing either. It’s good. It isn’t something you’d watch when you’re looking for your next top anime, but it’s also not something you’d only watch if your desperate for something new either. I’ve been watching this and Yuru camp lately, and both of them are just relaxing and enjoyable.
The story is nothing new, but it’s presented in such a way that it flows nicely and is paced well enough that you’re neither confused nor bored (although episode one was a bit fast paced, but it improves shortly
...
after.)
The art style is pretty, and there’s nothing noticeably poor about the animation either. The soundtrack and voice acting are good too, and all get the job done.
The characters aren’t really deep or enticing, but they’re not annoying or overly cliche either. They’re fun to watch and their interactions feel natural.
Overall, this show is a great one to kick back and relax to after work/school. Normally I wouldn’t make a review after only 3 episodes, but because of the nature of this show being slice of life-esque, I don’t see a “bad ending” ruining it, and I don’t see some huge plot point coming that’ll make me want to give it a 10.

After watching this entire anime, I have safely decided to stop trusting MAL reviews/stats unless it is either insanely highly and/or lowly rated, because this being a 7 has to be a lie. The r/anime ratings were much more realistic as you could see the ratings drop each episode.
The Day I Became a God was so hyped up, and all the the visuals, sound, and initial premise were so fantastic, that it easily became my most anticipated anime of fall 2020, but it was also the biggest waste of my time.
The main character, Yota, is extremely inconsistent and irritable, and he’s also painfully average in
...
a non self-insert kind of way. He also ends up falling in love with an 11/12 year old girl after being deeply in love with his best friend for YEARS??
The plot had potential and the beginning premise was good, where this mysterious child comes and helps solve problems for people with her omniscient powers, but it quickly became inconsistent and all over the place within the last 5 or so episodes. Her reason for her powers and the aftermath follow no particular formula, and I found myself sympathizing more with Izanami and Hiroto over the main 2. (These 2 characters had great development and I’d pay for them to get the screen time they deserve.)
The anime was not heartbreaking in any way shape or form, but I will still listen to the OSTs on repeat because even I can admit that they were fantastic.

Y’all this anime is a 5 at worst PLEASE omg
The anime may be generic, but it’s actually quite enjoyable to me. Generic doesn’t always mean bad, it just means average, this is definitely not a “1.”
The story may be quite average, but the plot is easy to follow and progresses nicely. The art style isn’t anything fantastic, but the animation is well done and the designs are cute.
The op and Ed aren’t anything special, but the voice acting and bgm fit nicely together, and I don’t find myself cringing at any of the dialogue (aside from the captain every now and then lmao)
The characters definitely
...
all have their generic personalities, but I don’t find them to be overly cliched, as they’re not exaggerated and dramatic like most anime characters. They interact well, and the anime isn’t filled with constant drama and misunderstandings. The characters are grounded and fairly mature, the male MC isn’t too overpowered nor is he an idiot, and the female MC isn’t an obnoxious tsundere either.
Please give this anime a chance if you’re looking for a quick and fun watch! I wouldn’t recommend it to somebody who’s looking for something deep or extremely investing, but if you just want to find a show to sit back and relax to, this is a solid choice.

Violet Evergarden is definitely not the genre of anime I usually watch, but it’s one of my all time favorite animes. The world building is fantastic, and the atmosphere really brings it to life.
The story is fairly generic, in terms of the heroine Violet episodically helping others in need by delivering letters to them, and thus learning and growing herself over time, but it’s executed well, and the unique post war European setting is new and exciting for anime.
The Art/Animation is absolutely stunning, and the visuals are so appealing that even if the scene is mostly cinematic, I cannot take my eyes off of it
...
lmao
The soundtrack for this series is one of my favorites, and I love the whimsical fantasy feel it has. English dub is also really really good and realistic too, and all the voices fit well.
The supporting characters are fairly average, but they all have charming personalities and unique stories, and they fill their designated roles well. The story really shines because of the protagonist Violet, and her journey to understand what the words “I love you mean.”
Overall, this anime was a breath of fresh air, and it really takes you on a journey. Definitely recommend it! (Though ep 10 may make you cry LOL)

Disclaimer: Please do not discard this series if you’re doing so because people have complained about the MC!!
Honestly, I was not expecting to like this series nearly as much as I did, and I was extremely skeptical about it (especially because it’s labeled “harem” when it’s very clear it’s a romcom,) but it blew my expectations out of the water.
Story: 8/10 The relationship between the 2 main characters progresses so naturally and it’s so realistic, which is a breath of fresh air for anime. They also both have very complementary personalities, and where one is stronger, the other is weaker. The story flows nicely and
...
the plot is simple, but it’s still very well written and I enjoy waiting for new chapters each week!
Art: 9/10 One of the prettiest manga art styles I’ve seen in a while. It’s a very polished style, and I love how the shading makes everything feel like it’s shimmering!
Characters: 10/10 People will probably strongly disagree with me here, but in my opinion, the characters of this manga re what make it so great. Each one fits into a certain troupe, but goes so much further beyond that. They all have good motives and solid backstories that explain why they are how they are, and they all have extremely good development, especially the MC.
people view kazuya as a horrible Mc just because he’s a “cringy loser,” and this irritates me so much! Kazuya is actually very insightful and observant, and he may be awkward, but he’s not stupid. He’s very capable when he sets his sights on things, but you just won’t see that right away because he doesn’t have an end goal in sight. (And as he develops that changes.) He’s also very emotionally mature, and is good at consoling others and understanding his own feelings, which is what makes him so good for Chizuru, because she’s the complete opposite.
Overall, simple premise with a unique twist, and it’s definitely worth the read.
