I used to be the type of person who would never drop an anime. I forgot the first anime I dropped. I get your point, we should respect the efforts that the creators put into it. It's not like they make it bad on purpose. But, you're not doing them any favors if you're forcing yourself to watch it. If you're not enjoying it, then it's not worth it. You might as well be pitying them. They'll respect the fact that you tried after a few episodes and not part of the first episode. They can respect that. Some anime you just won't like.

Haha, yeah, rom coms and ecchi are popular genres choices. I watch those too, but that's not all I watch. I'm pretty diverse with anime actually. Ha, it's funny that they look at you like you're mad. I wouldn't expect that reaction.

You're right, popular and good are definitely not the same thing. Hmm, I would have disagree with you on that. There are so much modern anine that I can name that are very dark. Death Note, Code Geass, Monster, Re:Zero, Hellsing Ultimate, Psycho Pass, Tokyo Ghoul... Maybe, you think that because the amount of anime you have seen which makes sense because you have seen almost 2000 anime. Well, yeah, there are overrated anime, but you'd be surprised at some recent good anime. Not all of it is just talk. Made in Abyss came out last year and it is highly praised on this site. The same goes for My Hero Academia and Re:Zero. I wouldn't call them classics though. Not yet anyway.

I'm honestly surprised people use those excuses as actual reasons to drop anime. That's funny and sad at the same time. I thought we were better than that. I have dropped anime before, but not because of crap like that. Because I was bored; that's an actual reason. If you're not entertained, then what's the point?

Well, I don't know about 'most of people from the anime-watching community'. I'd say it's close to that, but One Piece is very popular and I know people that are caught up with One Piece. The only reason I'm not watching One Piece is because I don't have the time to. I have seen a couple episodes though so I know it's good. I think most anime watchers would praise the fact that you watched the first 600 episodes of One Piece in 6 weeks.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there. Dubs were bad back then. I don't think it would be a totally bad idea to re-animate some of them. I mean, look at Hunter x Hunter. The newer version is more popular and praised than the older version. I hope the same happens to Yu Yu Hakusho, that anime is underrated. So, the 1980s and 90s anime hit you with nostalgia. I can't say the same. In my case, it would be simply the great anime, the anime I consider great, I watched in the past. I respect your opinion, but you know anime started getting more popular after the late 90s and early 2000s. I'm sure some of the older ones don't get enough credit, but I don't think they are the best anime

Yes, in the end all the work will be worth it.
Pap4XD Jan 30, 5:49 PM
And it makes learning languages a little more complicated. Although the differences between them are also very interesting.
Pap4XD Jan 29, 3:34 PM
It's complicated, but it's beautiful to study history.
Pap4XD Jan 28, 1:16 PM
At least I should know a little about another country that is not where I live; besides knowing the history of a certain region in case you want to go to work there.
Pap4XD Jan 27, 2:56 PM
I study international relationships.
It's true what you say, that's why sometimes I also have to study oral history.
Pap4XD Jan 27, 11:18 AM
It is very good that you use your free time to learn more. Also in my studies it is difficult to obtain a good record of the history of Asia; besides that they tell us that certain events must be verified.
Pap4XD Jan 26, 7:14 PM
Sounds complicated. But what kind of history do you study, universal or that of your country?
Pap4XD Jan 25, 2:07 PM
That's fine. I guess what you study is very complicated.
Pap4XD Jan 23, 1:27 PM
Very good and you?
Pap4XD Jan 21, 2:07 PM
You're welcome

I'm surprised people use those as real reasons to quit anime. Well, the animation reason doesn't surprise me. I know someone who doesn't watch one piece because of the animation. I entirely agree with you. I like to call myself diverse fan of anime. I don't think the older anime are exactly the best, but they are probably the most original. I mean, look at anime like Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Sorry for the late response 🙏
JJExtreme Jan 13, 8:19 PM
That makes sense, I don't think anybody likes them. Actually. I take that back. A lot of tropes people can't stand, but I think people like the another world anime more. A lot of them tend to start the same way, but I don't think most viewers care about that. I do understand what you're saying though. Haha, pre-2000s. Well, anime like Nana, Death Note, and Monster were aired during that time so you never know
JJExtreme Jan 12, 7:34 AM
Well, I can't say you're wrong about all that. Older anime tend to be less predictable since the typical tropes wren't really a thing yet. Dang, 400GB, yeah, that should keep you occupied for a while
