I noticed you dropped Madoka Magica because of the fact it is a magical girl show. You only got to episode 2 before dropping it and if you watch anwhere past that you'll find it is the complete opposite kind of show your thinking it is after watching 2 episodes

Thank you for the review on Shinsekai Yori. You're right about people dropping it after seeing some scenes from episode 8, it's all a matter of prejudice. Great anime, thank you!

Thank you for the review of "From the New World". Being an old guy, I recognized the concept behind it as soon as I saw a couple of episodes on Crunchyroll about 8 months ago. The notion of just how incredibly dangerous the esper talent on display in this anime could be was first introduced in old-time written SciFi way back in the early 1960s. And the answer most stories came to was:

Society-Destroyingly Dangerous!

Therefore I turned away from the anime, because I thought that it probably would be utterly depressing, as society would in fact be shown to be destroyed in it, causing immense human suffering in the process. From your review I gather that the anime does not turn out quite as horrifyingly as I thought. Maybe I'll now have the courage to watch it.

A very happy new year. May this year be a wonderful one as well :)

Best of luck to you. :) I'm sure you will hold up well.

And honestly I haven't given that too much thought. Aside from constantly worrying about college (I live in a perpetual state of nerves), I really haven't thought about where I'll be living or how. I guess my first goal is to make it to college, preferably a liberal arts one for my undergrad, and see where I can go from there.

Burn notice is pretty good. I like it! But then again I don't have very high standards for what I watch on TV anyways.

And your anime list looks threatening! In the best way. *thumbs up* Not to mention it froze my laptop for a good ten minutes but that's only because my internet connection is crap and my laptop is a decade old.

Fellow One piece fan :D Happy New Year!!

Thanks :P

Well, there are some in your Ptw list like: Mushishi, Ghost in the Shell - SAC, Baccano!, Cowboy Bebop, Seirei no Moribito.
Apart from them, personally I'll recommend: Kino no Tabi, Gankutsuou, Eve no Jikan, Golden Boy, Haibane Renmei, Juuni Kokuki, Kemono no Souja Erin, Master Keaton, Mononoke, Planetes, Princess Tutu, Samurai Champloo, There She Is!!, Uchouten Kazoku, Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei and last but not the least Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu is a must watch.
And there is Steins;Gate new movie. Heard that it is a pretty good sequel.

Oh sorry, that's a big list. But what shall I say other than 'they are worth watching!'

HAHAHAHA
Nah, I feel ya man

Being single is great and all, except for the fact that my Japanese teacher kept rubbing that into my face by sending me songs about being single on Christmas. Because apparently it's a huge couples holiday over there and anyone without one is just... well, there to look at the pretty lights. -___-''

And thank you! Merry Christmas to you too *____*
I haven't been doing much since break started except work and watch reruns of Burn Notice. How about you?
Zarashy Dec 24, 2013 11:37 AM
Merry Christmas! :)

Hello! I do have to commend you for your brilliant review of Shinsekai Yori, it was very well written. :)
Zarashy Dec 23, 2013 8:18 AM
I am good, thanks. Spending most of the days watching anime, trying to reach 400 "completed anime" mark by the end of this year, which is almost there.

Well, I won't be able to concentrate on anime much for the next few months so thought of completing as many anime as possible in winter break. What about you? You've been reading manga only.
