The main characters are both smart/strategic, very experienced, and are highly respected in their respective worlds. Other similarities include the use of gaming terms, guilds, and great action scenes. Quan Zhi's battles are far more intense, though. People who enjoy playing MMOs will surely find them interesting.

Realistic, relatable, coming-of-age stories. Both feature thoughtful dialogue and deal with mature themes such as depression. They're more than just anime; they're life experiences. Shows like these are rarely produced nowadays, which is a sad thing.

Harem shows in a high school setting, which we have seen a thousand times before. (At least the girls are cute!) Similar story and characters, with plenty of comedy.

New Game!
add

Slice of life comedies about working for a production company (game industry in New Game, and anime industry in Shirobako). Shirobako is more realistic, whereas in New Game, the focus is more on the comedy and 'moe', I find. Fans of either show will find plenty to enjoy here. Oh, and both shows have cute girls, which makes everything better, naturally.

Anime about cute high school girls making music. They have a similar character cast and plenty of enjoyable slice of life and comedy. Both also have a focus on friendship, and have a 'stronger' second season.

They are basically the same. Cast of characters bear a great resemblance to each other (like Natsu - Haru, Lucy - Ellie, Gray - Musica). Typical shounen anime with lots of action and great fighting scenes. Both created by Hiro Mashima.

The perfect examples of 'don't judge a book by its cover'. They seem like anime about just cute girls doing cute things at first, but then they turn into something completely different; they take a much darker tone.

These two are considered rollercoaster anime. They start off slow, but once you get about half-way, the intense, thrilling, dark stuff happens. Both have the same plot related issue, that'll be a spoiler to tell. In both anime there are sacrifices to be made in order to obtain their goal.

Both anime are similar to eachother in terms of making an bishoujo game. They each have an otaku (the guy in Saekano and the girl in Shoujo-tachi) recruiting other high school students to make the game together. The characters from both shows also share similar personalities. If you liked Saekano, there's a chance you might like Shoujo-tachi as well.

Both shows have a similar 'moe' atmosphere and are lighthearted slice of life about cute girls doing cute things that have plenty of enjoyable comedy. They have similar artwork, though GochiUsa is a bit more 'loli-ish'. Aya and Rize are also both voiced by the same seiyuu.
