Looks like I'm only about 30 chapters behind on One Piece; I actually thought it was going to be much more than that. Here pretty soon, I'll start catching up on them again.

So, since were both reading the manga. How would you compare Fullmetal Alchemist, manga vs anime so far?

I did it...I can cross one more thing off my bucket list...I just marathoned an entire anime series in one day -- One Punch Man. All 12 episodes, plus the 6 OVA's.

...I don't recommend doing it, heh. I have a thumping headache, my eyes are blurry, and my legs feel like jelly from sitting so long. I need some fresh air. Just felt like touting my "accomplishment" somewhere, so I had to tell somebody. XD

The show itself was pretty good! Lots of great humor throughout. The OVA's were pretty standard faire, but that's to be expected, really.

All right, I'm off to go...step outside for a while.

I see you added Your Name to your 'plan to watch'.
I am going to buy it when it comes out if you want to save it for a movie night.

Fun adventure going to see the One Piece movie! It was a better than the other two so far. Just wish the characters got a little more screen time each; and a more active roll for a few.
Boss character was actually much more interesting this time around. And the plot was pretty neat.

Oooh, Spice and Wolf! That's one of my all-time favorites right there. Hope you enjoy it! :D

I see you are still keeping the Pokemon journey going lol! How about those filler episodes? Especially that Sandshrew!

Pretty well, Wixoss S3 is fantastic as heck so far.

You seem to have liked Akira a good deal more than I did. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it sometime. To me, it seemed like the kind of movie that was trying to say something profound, but the impact of its message got severely lost in its delivery (which is a nicer way of saying that it lacked any kind of coherency). It had a lot of things going for it, namely the art direction and the ambient soundtrack (with the hallucinogenic dream sequence standing out as a particular highlight), but in the end, it left me with a lot more questions than answers--namely, "What the heck did I just watch?"

Awesome! That's my goal as well--watch every single episode and movie in the order they aired, including the banned episodes like "Electric Soldier Porygon." You'll probably beat me to the end though, since my viewing will be restricted to the DVD releases, some of which probably won't be coming out for the next year or two. So yeah, definitely a slow-burn for me as well, but it's still nice to see us embarking on the same journey together! :-)

Hey, I see you've started on the Pokemon journey--nice! Are you planning on taking the plunge with me and watching every episode in the series, or are you only interested in revisiting the nostalgic originals?
Lanthian May 4, 2016 4:49 AM
Yeah, its pretty neat. It'll take me a while to get everything figured out and up to date, though.

"Chi's Sweet Home" is just a cute little bundle of concentrated adorableness. It's about a little kitten who accidentally wanders away from her mom one day and ends up being taken in by the Yamada family. Most of the series is about Chi being fascinated by this new world around her, which often leads to hilarious shenanigans. There's 208 episodes across both seasons, but each episode is only 3 minutes long. They're more like vignettes, really, with each episode highlighting some amusing aspect of cat ownership, or some mishap that Chi gets herself into. I'd say the best moments are when she discovers things for the first time, like the simple joy of playing with a plastic bag, or the endless fun of chasing a bouncy ball. Her first trip to the vet also comes to mind as a standout moment.

It's a perfect show for when you aren't in the mood for any kind of drama and you just want to relax and smile at something. I usually pop it in for a quick dose of happiness or for a change of pace from whatever else I'm watching at the moment. I definitely recommend it, especially if you're a fan of adorable animals like I am. :D

I would love to see your anime collection sometime! Now that I'm actually starting to grow mine a considerable amount, I'm anxious to compare it with someone who's been at it a lot longer than I have.
