I'm writing this review now that I've just finished the manga, so the story is still fresh in my mind.
Sachi-iro no One room is a story about a kidnapper and a girl, and it revolves around our two protagonists who find themselves living in the same house together. The premise is quite interesting and does a great job of keeping the story unique and engaging at the start. Eventually, the two social outcasts find meaning in their lives by living with one another, but their time is limited because there is a kidnapping case being handled by police and detectives that threatens their newly-found

peaceful lifestyle. Near the end of the story, it becomes evident that the author had begun to run out of ideas, and the dialogue and theme became somewhat repetitive. The ending was also anti-climatic given the buildup that connoted a tragic ending or a satisfying conclusion but resulted in a mediocre conclusion.
Despite my overall complaints, One Room of Happiness is a breath of fresh air that while can't be called perfect due to a drop in quality near the end of the story, is still an entertaining and emotional ride so I don't regret reading it at all. A small note, however: there is no romance in the story likely because the majority of the story is spent on the kidnapper and the girl slowly opening up to one another about their pasts and trusting one another.
