Yeah I'm a huge fan of mushishi, watched it on a whim and it ended up being one of the best series I've seen

Yeah, I do not really go there anymore. It's hard to attach myself to board 8 anymore. Though I may come back someday to play a mafia game.

This season is really bad. That's normal for a winter anime season though. I see you haven't seen Jinrui yet, and I would recommend it to you. The themes and the lead character are very similar to Kino's Journey. Jinrui does well on standing on it's own. 2012 was not a very good year for anime though and it's hard to place an anime of the year when none of them really deserve it. I'm hoping 2013 to be better but who knows at this point.
