Introduction
I am a German anime and manga fan who enjoys writing about this stuff on his blog. But I suppose most of this is already clear from the fact that I am on this site to begin with, so instead I'm going to talk a bit about my outlook on art. Feel free to write me if you have any questions or just want to talk.
I am fluent in German and English | Still learning: French and Japanese
On emotion and enjoyment
At the end of the day, I (and I kind of hope this is true for everyone) watch anime for the purpose of enjoying myself. So any comments I make on my blog about the importance of objectivity are because I believe that it is helpful to a critical conversation and not to say that we shouldn't talk about the emotional value of art. Those are just separate conversations in my mind. Personally, I love talking about my emotional connection to any show I have watched, I simply don't use it to determine quality for anyone but myself. So... if you're up for talking about why Azusa being unable to give her treasured friends self-made chocolate makes you cry or why Mizore and Nozomi's hug lets your heart melt, I'm more than willing to.
On rating art with numbers
I do
not view numbers as an accurate way of representing the quality of a piece of art as there are too many variables to be considered. You should listen to what people cite as the reasons for the quality of a piece instead of focusing on the number they apply to it. However, numbers can serve as a quick way to get an overview of a piece's quality, especially in the form of a list where they can be compared to one another. In order to be somewhat accurate and have a consistent standard I took the time to put into words what kind of quality each number represents. This scale is based on the 10 point scale that for example MAL uses.

As an important side note:
Don't confuse my rating of quality with my enjoyment. Quality doesn't matter for enjoyment as a simple theme, whether it is done well or not, could be enough for a person to feel a deep connection to a piece of art.

I just wanted to put in my take, I felt passionate about some of the things in the show so I wrote about them, and that's really it. Thanks for checking the review out though, I'm happy that you feel like it's something that is needed on the site. I'm sure that others would be better at writing about this show's more general approach and give the casual viewers a much better understanding of why could it be something that they don't like, but I'm glad to see people enjoy my review nonetheless.
The storyline never explains why his grandmother spent her all time to capture the yokai's names and why Natsume is giving them back without any explanation.
She has completed a book full of Yokai names and we don't know why their names are important.
In addition, some Yokais disappear just after that, and some remain there, totally unchanged. It's irrational.
