I will keep it as short as possible. If you are looking for a short version, read the last paragraph.
Looking at the cover image and reading the short resume, I was given the impression that the series would be somewhat different than what it really is. Sakon on the cover image, and even Ukon with a bit of a dumb expression both look mysterious in a way like they have their own shocking secrets and the series would be more like xxxHolic where there's one big overarching story arc and mini arcs in between that will feel like some intense, thrilling mystery, but instead it
...
felt like I was watching a slightly better version of Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, which I gave up on after 40 episodes due to sheer boredom.
I will do a lot of comparison between both series, because at this point, these two are the only ones of this "genre" that I've seen and I don't have a larger base for comparison.
Karakuri Zoushi Ayatsuri Sakon is actually better, at least in creating a somewhat solid and consistent character for Sakon and Ukon (in a way). Another good thing about the characters is they are more human and there is something like an aftermath after the case is solved, both of which are missing in Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, where a case ends and "everyone lived happily ever after" and then we switch to the next case. Characters here have feelings, they feel flawed, like real human beings who have hopes, dreams, fears, imperfections. In Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, they feel more plain than NPCs in an MMORPG that aren't even quest-related - they only serve to drive the plot of the arc.
The cases seem more interesting (at least to me) compared to Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, where every case feels more boring and predictable than the last and at some point it feels like there are a handful of "case templates" and the author was shuffling them and picking at random, which made the series feel old and boring in the first 10 episodes. In comparsion, Karakuri Zoushi Ayatsuri Sakon has cases that are related to the protagonist in a deeper and more significant way and it makes you care what will happen.
The relationship between Sakon and Ukon is also explored, although as I stated in the first paragraph, I had completely different expectations for this series and the relationship between the characters. My expectations were that it would not be 100% attached in reality, but I was wrong.
Overall, for me it's not as bad and boring as Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, especially the last arc is very important to understanding the whole situation better and I don't regret watching it, but I must admit around halfway through, I started watching it at x1.25 speed, because I wanted to get it over with. If you like murder mysteries, you will probably enjoy this a lot, if you are like me and just like mysteries in general, which are real headscratchers and not necessarily murders and there is a lot of intrigue and tension involved, you will be disappointed, because cases span 3 episodes each and none of them are something extraordinary.

To summarize the anime, it would be like this:
A 11-13 year old trying to create his first anime story and took heavy inspiration from Star Wars, Pokemon and Bleach.
I will explain in detail in segments.
-->> Why is it like Bleach? Because Bleach had one of the most random, non-sensical and incoherent stories in anime I've ever had the misfortune of seeing, especially a 200+ episode Shounen at that. In Bleach Rukia and Orihime would get randomly kidnapped 10-20 different times and the band would go and rescue them only for the same to repeat all over with nobody learning anything from it. The second was
...
Ichigo fighting some bad guy and to defeat him, he loses his powers, then becomes an emo and after a while gets his powers back. There was also a lot of pointless going back and forth between the Human world, Soul Society and Hueco Mundo... Everything in Bleach was a mess. Kiba is literally the same - the characters travel between the lands - Tempura(Templar), Jimoto(Zymot) or Neotopia back and forth for no reason. Characters come and go at complete random, no character leaves an impression or a mark, all the characters are one-dimensional and serve almost zero purpose. This whole going back and forth and events happening at crazy speeds and having no impact feels like the kid who is creating the story is excitedly explaining it to some adult he looks up to going "And then they went there... and then they fought those guys... and then... and then... and then..." thus all the events in the overarching story feeling completely rushed, absolutely random, non-sensical, incoherent and most importantly - lacking and impact on the viewer and not being exciting at all.
-->> Why is it like Star Wars? Mostly because everyone's weapons are like lightsabers and to top it off in different colors, although they don't seem to follow any specific pattern where Jedi use Green/Blue whereas Sith use Red. It's just very hard to overlook weapons like this, where even the blade part disappears when it's turned off and only the hilt remains, it's lazily inspired by Star Wars. Also around the end, one character dies and turns into a Force Ghost to give some guidance to the protagonist.
-->> Why is it like Pokemon? Because the spirits kind of function like Pokemon - their owners summoning them and the spirits appearing like balls. I really don't know what else to add - just so unimaginative and lazy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, the anime started somewhat OK, in the first 7-8 episodes, I was willing to give it a 7/10, as the story went on around episodes 15+, my score dropped to 6/10, around episodes 25-35, my score dropped to 5/10, during the last 10 episodes, my score dropped to 4/10. During the last 3-4 episodes, I watched them on x1.25 speed, because I wanted to get it over with ASAP, and on the last two episodes, it could not catch my attention at all, I was pausing every 2-3 minutes and doing something else, I literally had to put the speed to x1.5 and almost glue myself on the desk to force myself to finish them, it was so boring and uneventful at the end and the last few moments after the credits, it didn't really bring any closure to anything, it just felt as random as the rest.
Characters don't leave any impact, even the main protagonists feel so one-dimensional... Actually, if I'm to be honest, calling them "one-dimensional" is like a compliment, in reality, they don't even have one-dimensional qualities, because they don't even have goals or any personality at all, as if the creator of the anime was having a very difficult time even creating basic personality and goals for those 3-4 characters. The rest, who juts come and go, they are even worse - just plot devices that appear and disappear when needed, some die when needed and you never feel the slightest bit bad about it.
At the end, the characters start changing so drastically, it starts to feel like a parody of the whole anime genre, except the anime doesn't even realize and is actually keeps taking itself seriously.
I researched on Wikipedia about this anime and I think it was made to promote a TCG game, which is OK and I can understand, but even the original Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon, which existed for the same purpose had almost masterpiece characters and story arcs compared to Kiba. I remember being super invested, especially in YGO! and the Pegasus arc, it was so awesome.
I don't know how I was able to finish it, it's not completely horrible, it just feels so devoid of any emotion or feeling, it's so fake and plastic, I haven't seen one so strange like this before.

Story is about a high schooler who's the grandson of a famous detective and he and his friend always end up at the epicenter of some crime with a murder or multiple murders and the protagonist solves them.
At first I thought it was really good and interesting, but later on it became a real drag to watch. For the 40 episodes I've watched, I took two breaks from the show because I had zero desire to watch it. In the end I gave up because I realized I was forcing myself to watch it and not having much fun.
Reason why I felt like this is
...
because there doesn't seem to be an overarching plot or anything, the only way you can tell the show has progressed is that the main characters and some recurring characters are using new information based on events that took place in past episodes. Other than that, nothing really changes. Every case takes about 3-5 episodes and then the next one starts, I find it amazing that this has 148 episodes when at around 40 I thought I've seen all there is to see.
I find it very unrealistic how the two main characters who are 17 (but look like 14) are so calm and composed when they encounter death so often and seeing dead people literally every other day. It gets to the point where they don't pay any mind to them, aside from the first reaction of shock or screaming, after that they are totally fine, even the other characters that are just for the case are also calm and composed. It looks so fake and it destroys any immersion the show might have had.
It's not just Kindaichi, it's Miyuki as well. She can't have seen so much death in her life, yet she doesn't flinch after the first few seconds. And she is not even a persistent character, she is just a supporting deuteragonist to Kindaichi. She doesn't appear in other series, only this one and is then replaced by another girl.
The same goes for every other character, even the ones that are just for the specific case. It happens in every case and in every episode without exception.
People find a corpse, then some woman/girl screams, the rest gather around, look shocked for 1 second and then everyone is completely fine and OK. Since every case is a recycled copy/paste of every other case, it's always the murderer being among them all, and it's known to all and yet nobody seems at all nervous to be among the others, especially in situations where Kindaichi gathers them around to have some meeting with them or to try and trick the murderer of slipping up.
This is just a minor issue among the pile of issues with Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, at least this is the only Kindaichi anime I've seen (up to episode 40) and after that I have no desire to see the other. Every case becomes predictable after you've seen a few cases, very scarcely the crime committed has been really elaborate and well thought out, usually it's something very simplistic and even idiotic. In some occasions it even defies the laws of physics and nature, like showing someone traveling between rooms on the outside of a building walking on a ledge and then disappearing or something like that.
The author tried really hard to make everything look elaborate and milk it for as long as possible, but it just keeps getting more and more boring as there is no overarching plot, in 40 episodes I did not see anything happen that can be considered a main plot material. There was this case/arc where Kindaichi got framed for a murder he did not commit, at that point, I thought it might mean something, but this is quickly forgotten and never touched upon ever again. I even went through the trouble to watch the last episode, 148 I believe, just to see if something happens, well it doesn't. It ends like just another case and ends in some forced comedic manner like 90s/00s anime where Kindaichi is running chasing after a car where his friends are in the car laughing at him while he has a dumb face and is shouting something incomprehensible. Which is just insulting to me, because it means for 148 episodes nothing really happened. Maybe if people like this simplistic type of murder mystery that goes on and on and on until even the author gets bored and puts an end to it, it may be fine, for me it was a waste of time, the first 5-10 episodes were promising, but when I realized nothing else happens, I saw no reason to waste my time with it anymore.
The cases themselves quickly get old, some are predictable, others have really stupid solutions, there was one where the murderer was jumping from door to door so that he doesn't leave any footprints in the mud because it was rainy, the stupid thing was that each door had a concrete platform in front of it and they were close enough that anyone can jump from one platform to the other and the door thing is absolutely idiotic and pointless. It made me feel like the author is trying really hard to make everything look elaborate when it's in fact pretty stupid.
There is an anime called Tantei Gakuen Q, which was a bit more interesting and some cases were real head scratchers. I would advise anyone to watch that instead of Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, it's a bit cliche, mostly the main character stereotypes, but the cases themselves are more interesting.
I think Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo can be best enjoyed if you are in the age group 7 - 14, after that it's hard to enjoy something so cheap and predictable that basically doesn't go anywhere. Another way I can describe it is "watch it only if you absolutely need to watch something and for some reason there isn't anything else to watch". It's not horrible, but it's not that good either, just mediocre and boring. The show is overrated and most of its praise is fake.

Plot:
The story is about a kid who attends some magical school where everyone is from a distinguished family of sorcerers, he is the only one who is of regular lineage. The first few episodes there is a lot of talk about this "Ordinary" student who is attending, a lot of the other students are skeptical, some are even looking down on him, only a few don't mind who he is. Over the course of the series, the protagonist wins the hearts of everyone and becomes involved in some high-scale conspiracy.
====================
Characters:
The protagonist can be best described as a Mary Stu, he literally shows no flaws
...
in his behavior, whatever he does - he's a professional at it - best wizard, best swordsman, best ladies man, best drag queen, best outdoorsman, best bodybuilder. The other characters don't have any identity, there is the one guy who originally started as an antagonist, I call him "Blue Haired Malfoy" who hated the protagonist for not being of respected lineage, but then the protagonist showed him what's what and then the suddenly had an epiphany, cried and cut down his hair and some of his face wrinkles disappeared and became a good guy. The protagonist's dormmate has no personality, just a good guy and a supporter, nothing to say. Then there are the girls in the show, they don't have personalities either, you can only tell them apart by their hair color - The Red Hair, The Purple Hair, The White Hair, The Pigtails, The glasses, The Albino, The Blonde, they all seem to like the main character and instantly develop a crush on him. Finally there are the mentors - all female cast of women who the protagonist grew up with during his life as a child in the army, they don't serve much purpose other than being plot armor and having zero personality and come to save the day when it's convenient.
====================
Visuals:
The visuals are OK, not great, not horrible, I don't really care about them as long as they aren't 2004 level of Flash animation or stop motion or that weird CGI like in the anime Ajin. Some people complain how the animation is low quality, nobody cares about that, the animation is good, people just try to find things to be outraged about, because they have nothing going on in their lives.
====================
Sound:
Sound is also OK, I hated the Intro and Outro songs, I never listened to Intro or Outro since I began watching anime in 2007 so I usually skip them, but this one has been so annoying with horrible vocals, horrible tempo or whatever, it's just painful to listen to even for a second or two, otherwise the sound was OK and the voice actors did a fine job.
====================
Verdict:
The anime would have been called predictable, except it's totally unpredictable, but not in a good way, it's unpredictable, because things just happen and there is no reason for any of them. Like forced events to keep the plot moving. It's like the author of this story is either very young or very inexperienced and lacks the skills to convey a coherent and interesting story that pulls viewers/readers in.
I watched the anime over the course of a few days and honestly, I was having a hard time following the plot and what's going on. It's all over the place. First it's the protagonist going to this school, I was thinking it was a school anime, but there is no academics in it besides a tournament in which the protagonist doesn't take place in, there are no classes, no difficulties, the only rivalry there was fixed itself magically in a few episodes. Then there is the shenanigans the protagonist has with the girls, I could not care any less about that, there was a lot of boring talk about feelings, fears and whatever, I just could not have been bothered to pay attention to that whiny drivel. And finally there was this overarching plot about some high-level conspiracy taking place, which somehow got mentioned in the beginning, then it was forgotten due to the tournament and the protagonist playing playboy with all the girls and also cross-dressing into a drag queen doing a better job at being a girl than all the other girls. Then we go back to the conspiracy thing for like 3 episodes, then everything abruptly ends with a happy ending and then we don't have an idea what the hell happened in the whole anime. There was some teaser after the outro about some brown-haired girl that looked like when the protagonist was cross-dressing into a drag queen so maybe that's a little sibling of his, but who cares, I won't watch a second season from this. I did not understand the whole thing, I did not get anything out of the anime or the story, pretty much nothing happened, it could have been a 10 min - 5 episode ONA or whatever and it wouldn't have made any difference whatsoever.
I researched that it was made by a female novelist, I have no issue with that, but unless the anime is very different from the light novel, I don't see how something so boring, convoluted can be interesting to anyone.

They made the MC look so cool and badass that it makes you sick to your stomach. It's like Kirito 2.0. The problem is that it's forced and not in a way like Overlord or Shield Hero where in the first one it was required for the plot and for the second the character overcame hurdles and difficulties to get to where they are. In this show, the character like a Mary Sue and things happens conveniently for them and it just isn't satisfying to watch, because there are no stakes and no occasions where you don't know what's going to happen or if the
...
MC is in danger, the anime prepares you from the start that there will be no surprises.
The MC is OP, but again, not in a good way, but in a forced Mary Sue way and combined with the plot armor, you can't even feel if he is strong or not, because there are no stakes about anything and the character doesn't come through, he is automatically predestined to come through with little effort and in the end there is no satisfaction, things just happen, like the Disney Star Wars sequels.
Romance also feels forced and like a plot armor - one of the MC's harem confesses to him and the rest of his harem also fights for him. Also on a personal note, harems as a fan service in anime are pretty disgusting to me, especially when it's not even stated in the genres.
If you look at this concept as an outsider to anime tropes, this is contrived, stupid and disgusting and a waste of time. Still I gave it 6, because I had some snacks to eat while watching it so it kept me busy for a while, but I don't think I will watch a second season. These kind of things usually get worse as seasons progress.

TL;DR:
The 12th episode is a recap of all the 11 episodes, you can watch it to avoid wasting your time with this boring drivel.
Imagine how bad animes of late are for something this stupid to be so high rated...
DETAILS:
...
STORY: One of the most generic tropes around about the post-apocalyptic world, some forces fighting some other forces, there should be some sort of mystery around this, but for the 11 episodes, nothing of any significance happens.
ART: It's OK to look at, did not go blind.
SOUND: It's OK to listen to, did not go deaf.
CHARACTER: Characters are completely one-dimensional and they don't evolve at all - they have one trait about them, others have no traits at all and they are all running on repeat mode for 11 episodes when nothing happens and the characters react to various situations the same one-dimensional way they were written to be.
ENJOYMENT: With a mediocre plot like this, which has been seen in animes over 100 times before and characters that have nothing interesting about themselves, I found next to no enjoyment in it.
OVERALL: There are far better animes for you to watch. Watch this only in case you have absolutely nothing else to do with your life and you just want to fill up the day until it comes time for you to go to sleep. The 12th episode is a recap of all the 11 episodes, you can watch it to avoid wasting your time with this boring drivel.

I first watched Naruto in 2007. Before that I knew nothing about it or that it even existed, a friend of mine was the one who told me about it and encouraged me to watch it. In a way it was my first anime, if we disregard me previously watching Yu-Gi-Oh!, Shaman King, Princess Mononoke and A Wind Called Amnesia when I was too young to understand that these weren't just cartoons, but specific cartoons from Japan.
I was also influenced by people's opinions that I should skip the fillers of Naruto and never watch them, because they were pointless (allegedly).
Recently I decided to rewatch Naruto
...
with all the fillers that I missed and remember the show - is it as good as I remember or not. Previously I had rewatched One Piece (to a certain point) for the 3rd time and while it was my top #1 anime ever, after that I realized it had so many shortcomings I did not like and it stopped being my #1. Same happened when I rewatched Naruto - I encountered a lot of situations, which on my first watch I thought were very influential or important, but now - not so much.
As a kid I was obsessed with how cool and badass Sasuke was and thought Naruto was a lame pest. Now I saw it in reverse - Sasuke seemed like some confused edgy kid that tried to act cool and reserved while Naruto was earnest and trying his hard to do the best he can, this time I liked Naruto more and really disliked Sasuke for the choices that he has made and continues to make throughout the series.
One thing I missed was the fillers on my first watching. Now that I've seen all of them, I think it was a mistake to skip them, as they serve a really good purpose - they expand upon the world and define the supporting characters of Team Guy, Team Kurenai, Team Asuma in a way that can't be seen before. You learn a lot about their personalities, what they like or don't like. You have the episodes where Naruto is teamed with Hinata on missions and you can see how she feels about him a lot more. You have the episode where Shino is infected with a laughing poison and you see the most stern character laughing his ass off like a buffoon. You even think what it would be like to put the three most serious characters in one team - Shino, Neji and Gaara. You also see stuff like Kiba without his iconic hood, which many people including me thought was his hair (being black instead of being brown). You get to see other countries and in the last filler even the village of the Sand a little bit more. Even characters like Tenten and Chouji get attention.
After watching the fillers I appreciated the supporting characters a lot more and honestly learned more about them. I previously regarded them as some placeholders that existed just because, but now I managed to appreciate them a lot more. Because I haven't watched the fillers for a long time, I originally was under the impression that the Sand was not completely on friendly terms with the Leaf, but now I saw I was wrong.
Fillers aside, the story is kind of predictable and one thing I did not like about Naruto after watching One Piece after that was that most adventures in Naruto take place in either Konoha or the surrounding countries and then back and forth where in One Piece the characters travel the world and the scenery constantly changes, which is a lot better design, it happened in Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho too. Bleach also suffered from the same problem as Naruto - all the story takes place in the same few places and there just isn't a feeling of progress in either animes.
Overall I'm glad I rewatched Naruto completely without missing a thing, now I know I will not be coming to it ever again. I strongly recommend to everyone who hasn't seen it to watch it with the fillers as they expand the story even more. But Naruto in general is not that great of an anime or manga, it's mostly mediocre. It has so many inconsistencies, which can also be called plot holes. Like in some occasions the characters can use chakra to walk on walls, ceilings or water, but in others they have magically forgotten that ability and that's all due to the plot demanding it. In other situations you see technology like laptops and whatnot, in others you see people using Walkie-Talkies, but they still use birds to send messages to each other. These things create a great inconsistency not because it's hard to nail down what is the time period or technological advancement in the world of Naruto, but that things constantly change to suit the plot.
I think in the end Naruto does a good job at entertaining and certainly is the superior to Naruto Shippuden, which becomes a disappointment towards the end. I would advise people who haven't watched either to just watch Naruto and skip Shippuden, because it just keeps getting worse and the end is just retconning, because the creator literally lost the plot. After that there is an anime called Boruto, in the same universe, only like 30 years later. Stay away from that abomination at all costs - it is so bad, it will kill all you enjoyment you had from Naruto.

It's a disgrace. This trash should not have been made in the first place.
The fact that the name of the main character is almost the same as Naruto, only with 2 letters difference is staggering.
The fact that he looks almost the same is staggering. The fact that he is the son of Naruto is staggering.
The fact that they need to put cameos of old characters and literally make it in the same universe, only like 15+ years into the future is staggering.
The creators are obviously aware how bad and desperate this is.
What's going to be next? Anime about Koruto - Boruto's grandson and after
...
that Fufuto - about Koruto's great great grand nephew?
Give me a break. When Naruto ended with the joke that was Shippuden about space aliens, it was supposed to end at that and forgotten and left alone.

Naruto Shippuuden is like Star Wars the Disney Sequels - a whole lot of retconning, fan service and bull crap. It's one of those anime continuations or endings that were better off not happening at all. The problem is the story, not the anime, the animation quality or manga, the story is the main culprit.
As it continues off from how Naruto ended, the story starts off full of hope, energy, a lot of new adventures, but just like One Piece Post Time Skip, it just should have not existed at all. Just to see the story ending and the price being the whole story turn
...
into garbage is a price way too high for anyone to pay.
The way the story goes in Shippuuden and how it is explained the origin of Ninjutsu is also too far-fetched and not a satisfying conclusion. There is a lot of going back and forth in the series, a lot of nothing happening for hundreds of episodes, meaning literally years passing with nothing of significance happening. Then there are a lot of useless side-characters from other ninja villages being introduced, each one gets their own flashback to explain their motivation, again wasting at least 30-40 episodes for absolutely no reason.
A lot of the time is Naruto acting all strong and mature and Sasuke playing emo once again with some new followers buying his crap. At the end there is a great culmination, combined with dead characters being brought to life and useless characters being killed off like Portgas D. Ace in One Piece just to create a fake feeling of how dark and serious stuff are (which isn't the case), then comes the ending filled with even more retconning and fan service and the series ends.
I was glad when it ended, not because I was happy with how it ended, but with the fact that it's over, so I don't have to put up with this trash ever again. The original Naruto series is far superior and it should have never been continued into Shippuuden if it was going to be the garbage it was. This is further emphasized in the series Boruto, which is literally 70% fan service and 30% riding on the old story's fame hoping to keep this garbage afloat. After that I won't be surprised if there is a series about Boruto's grandchildren, and some people will even watch that too.

This is a review on the whole story, not just this portion of it.
Shingeki no Kyojin, when it began, presented a very enthralling mystery. People living locked inside cities with very tall and thick walls to protect them from the roaming titans outside the walls trying to eat them alive. Nobody knew why things came to be this way, nobody knew about the world outside the walls.
The mystery just kept getting thicker and thicker and it seemed like unravelling it will take a long time and it will be really interesting.
Which was only an illusion, things did not get better with the story, they
...
got worse instead. Some people rate the anime as bad, some rate the art as bad, some rate the manga as bad. I rate all of it, altogether as bad - the story itself and what the author envisioned fell flat on its ass as it went on. In a way it would have been better if the story ended prematurely, unfinished, because as it evolved and came to a conclusion is just disappointing and annoying.
For me the art, music and everything is OK, it looks well enough to see stuff and hear stuff, complaining about things look is outright pretentious, ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by anyone possessing at lest to barely functioning brain cells.
The problem is the story and I will briefly explain why it is disappointing without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen the whole story. The problem is as the mystery began unravelling, it devolved, it was not epic, it was not shocking, it became stupid. Characters started switching alignments (or were depicted as such) - characters the audience thought as good became bad, bad ones became good and so on and so on. These tropes are what has been happening in Latin American telenovelas (soap operas) for the past 30 years - dumb plot, characters changing sides, needless drama, lots of useless talking and declaring intentions, people going on verbal essays on who they like or hate, who they agree or disagree with. It's just very simplistic drama, procured by a severe lack of imagination, aimed at a simpleton audience who will gasp at every moment and observe the story with eyes and mouth wide open the entire time.
It just doesn't work anymore when you've been there dozens of times before, it's just the same old, same old, disappointing, annoying... in other words "How to kill your story 101".
Whoever enjoyed the story of Shingeki no Kyojin, good for you, but this is not the first time for me when an anime/manga/story has gone for far too long for its own good and has devolved into a senseless drivel. Seen it happen with Hunter X Hunter, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Boku no Hero Academia, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100, Shaman King, Yu Gi Oh! and a few more. Sometimes stories just have to be concise and just end when they have to rather than go on for long enough so that their authors have a chance to ruin them just so they can artificially prolong them and make more money out of them.
TL;DR - Started out amazing, ended up into a huge disappointment and a steaming pile of trash.
