I love detective novels too! I like detective, mystery, crime, thriller and horror novels.
And I love Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. I haven't heard of Perry Mason so now I have to check that series.
Other than this, I love Stephen King, Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky, JRR Tolkien, Franz Kafka, George Orwell and many more.

Well, I don't know about interesting but Wonder Egg Priority sure has one of the most unique and original plots I have seen in recent years. Give it a shot if you have time! It is airing now and will be ending soon. The first episode might seem confusing but you will pick up on the plot soon enough ( like you will get a pretty good understanding of the plot in ep2 and 3 ). And it just gets better and better.
Also, what do you like aside from anime? Any hobbies?

Lmao yeah, we got to see Molcars ancestors. Oh really? Is it a 12 episode season? It was a cool show. Just 4 min episodes but still good.
Apart from that, what anime/manga are you watching? Anything interesting or underrated?
