I'm glad you had a nice day ^_^
Yeah, the weather sucked big time today :/
My birthday was fantastic! I got to spend some precious time with my dearest friends and just generally had a great night :)

So, you're nearly finished the Vampire Knight anime. I know you'd seen it years ago but how do you feel it compares to the manga?
ThatDubbedGuy May 10, 2015 3:10 PM
How was your day today? As in Sunday?
Have a good day?
ThatDubbedGuy May 8, 2015 12:05 PM
Idol-kun! Hahaha XD
I'll always love the part when he gets really frustrated with Yuki and becomes pretty threatening but then Kaname shows up and just puts him in his place with even more menace, it was so badass!

Btw, how did you get your anime list the way it is, like with the picture showing up when you hover over the title? It's actually amazing!

Well, what can I say, I'm just a big romantic at heart I guess ^_^

It is my favourite genre in anime, there's nothing quite like it, nothing as fulfilling, nothing that makes me smile or cry more than romance done right.

The description of B Gata H Kei is pretty accurate I must admit, but it only tells half the story. It's sort of a, "don't judge a book by it's cover" anime. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, Clannad's first season is basically just the set-up for After Story. But Clannad does make it painfully obvious who the couple are and that they are genuinely interested in each other, plus the stories building up to the fantastic climax are just emotionally testing, in a great way (or sad way). I wouldn't say it's slow at all, there's just a lot of episodes with a lot of stories. The first season basically focuses on the supporting cast and their stories, whereas After Story is just complete focus on the couple.

I promise you, it's a special series. :)

Oh, you're watching Vampire Knight, very good choice! :D
Who are you liking more, Zero or Kaname?
I'm obviously just an out and out Yuki addict like Kaname XD

Aw, thanks so much for watching! ^_^
The backgrounds are sensational, Wit Studio have really outdone themselves.

There's a few really good romance series I want to recommend to you that do it right and at times differently and are some of my absolute favourites:

Ai Yori Aoshi (manga & anime) - the couple are a couple from the start but family circumstances can't allow them to be officially and publicly together so all the other women think the male is fair game when he's not and the couple try ever so hard to be together at times without anyone seeing them.

B Gata H Kei - Although the couple never get together (in the anime), they do fall in love with each other and if you read the description of the show, it's as crazy as it sounds. But there is loads of heart and genuine great romance.

We Were There (manga and anime) - Just simply a show about a couple. Pure and simple, you'll either like the characters or not, but the real romance starts immediately and never stops. Anime ends about half-way through the manga but still counts as an ending if you want it. If not, read on in the manga where there's a time skip.

Clannad & Clannad: After Story - After Story changed my life in anime. No joke.

Hotarubi no Mori e - you will cry.

Suzuka (manga) - the anime is good but the manga just takes it beyond the anime's limitations.

I'm in total love with Shinoa, she's so awesome. Stupid Guren is hilarious and a complete badass. Krul Tepes steals my heart from Shinoa when she's on screen, she's like so perfect as a vampire queen.

Hmmm, I might just give Nisekoi a massive postponement then, it's on Animax which I have a subscription for so I've got to watch it eventually, but bloody hell unless I can help it, I refuse to watch 'almost' romance anime, I just can't go through another 12 episodes of absolutely nothing anymore.

I guess that's even worth in a sense when the romance does happen but it doesn't work. I've had instances where the couple that happen isn't the one I wanted but I can accept it because it works like in Suzuka (although I always knew it wasn't going to last and I would get what I wanted mwahahaha)

I just finished Waiting In the Summer last night and it was a romance nothing show up until the 9th episode of 12 and from then on it just stepped up to such a higher level constantly showing the couple being a couple, you know, cuddling, kissing, snuggling, being all lovey dovey with each other and telling other people they were a couple etc. Plus all the other characters starting to properly progress with their feelings for other characters. So the show quickly went from a, "what the fuck dude!?" to a "yes! yes! yes!" type show in terms of romance.

Seraph of the End is so good right now, although it's the pure definition of cliche when it comes to it's main character, I'm loving the balls off it cause cause it's motherfudging vampires done right baby!

I really want to try out Nisekoi but I'm a bit apprehensive about it. What's the romance like? In terms of how focused it is and where it goes, like, does the show actually do anything with the romance or does it just fart about with the idea of it the entire time without doing anything till the last episode. I honestly canni be dayin' wi another show like that, I want real romance in romance anime waah!

I am actually - quite a lot:

Assassination Classroom - really funny
Sound! Euphonium - enjoyable
Blood Blockade Battlefront - starting to get good
The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato-chan - loving it
Ninja Slayer From Animation - garbage, but funny
Seraph of the End - absolutely brilliant series (if you like this you'll like Attack On Titan)
Sword Art Online 2 - incredible!
Vampire Holmes - pathetic

Are you watching anything new?
ThatDubbedGuy May 4, 2015 2:49 PM
It's fine if you give anime a chance on the first episode alone before dropping it, that's just your personal preference (I literally re-wrote that like 4 times as I kept on writing it as perfume hahaha).

I decided on 4-5 episodes as I've had a few experiences where I've not been all that enjoying a series and then all of a sudden, bang! It starts getting really good, stuff like Coppelion or Kekkai Sensen (which is airing right now and I've only just started to properly enjoy it).

On the other hand though there has been times when I've been enjoying what I've seen in the first 2 episodes, then between episodes 4-7 I couldn't get into it any more and dropped it, like Accel World.

I hadn't even noticed that Kiss Anime put it up uncensored. Before they never had it like that, now I can watch in HD, sugoi! XD

You really are missing out on not watching Attack On Titan. It is true that it is over-hyped beyond recognition but that's beside the point, you should make your own opinion about it by watching at least the first couple episodes. It's not as bad or as good as people say it is. I personally think it's an incredible show and one of the best, but with my reviewers head on it's really easy to point out it's many flaws.

Watch it for a bit, see what you think about it, I tend to give each and every anime a chance up until the 4th or 5th episode 99% of the time.

Hopefully we'll bump heads at Comic Con and grab a picture with each other :D

I do have Tokyo Ghoul bookmarked (that and 200 other shows), I finally found an uncensored version of it online as I refused to watch it censored (like with Terraformars). I WILL get to it eventually I'm just watching so much other stuff atm.

Hen, you canni talk about me no seeing Tokyo Ghoul when you haven't even seen Attack On Titan yet hahaha

Same here, I went to college in Edinburgh for three of the best (and worst) years of my life and completely fell in love with the place, I think it's the best city in the entire world.

If you can get to Comic Con this year please do, it's worth every penny, I went for the first time last year and it was absolutely immense, can't honestly wait to go again this year. Try and save as much money as possible, the deals at Comic Con can be too good to be true XD

Oh thank you so much for subscribing, it means the world to me! ^_^

The Betoyo Bento is a pretty good box to get, I only have one more coming as I'm switching to an Anime Bento for a couple of months which is kind of the same thing but technically comes with more things and out of all the videos I've seen it features stuff from shows I like more than Betoyo.

Aw, that sucks, was being a law student something that was kind of dumped on you?
ThatDubbedGuy May 1, 2015 3:15 AM
If I could drive, I'd try and interact with a lot more anime fans. There's a lot of people in Glasgow that I know of that meet up a lot, they're big into cosplay.

If you do check out my YouTube, I'd be so grateful! And I hope enjoy the videos, I'm not as active as I used to be and little by little I'm getting better and upgrading my equipment (just need a light and I'm done).

What's it like being a law student? Can't be easy I imagine?
ThatDubbedGuy Apr 30, 2015 2:42 PM
Nice, I didn't think there was any activity on that page, so I never go on it which is a shame.
It's quite extraordinary who similar our same series are, seems we have a lot in common hehehe

Admittedly I did check earlier on to compare our scores on our same series and the scores were quite fascinating indeed (I'm a big sucker for stats and research data *pushes glasses up nose).
