Top 7 Anime Go here if you want to see more exactly how I rank shows in relation to each other (I'm indecisive on a few of these so this changes often, but normally it's a set handful of shows that just swap by a couple of places). Here are my 3x3s and 4x4s that I think are worthy of note. I only have a couple now but I plan on updating some of my old ones soon to be more relevant and look less crap. RATING SYSTEM I rate based on impact, which is basically a combination of my emotional response and how much a show gets me to think about it. Basically the lasting impression something leaves, which can be negative if a show actively offended me. 10/10: All time favorite anime. While other scores are a range, 10/10 is a set point of what I consider to be the best that I've seen. If I find a new better show then all of my others will drop down and my ratings above 5/10 will shift slightly down towards the middle. I will only have multiple shows here if I can't choose between them. 9/10: Shows I consider to be favorites. Many of these used to be 10/10s before my current 10/10 came along. 8/10: Shows that I think are great, impacted me strongly, or are deserving of some special merit. Here also are shows that I would consider favorites if it weren't for major flaws that I can't bring myself to overlook. 7/10: Shows that I highly enjoyed. 6/10: Shows that overall I felt I had a positive experience with but didn't leave much lasting impact or shows that I highly enjoyed but were deeply flawed. 5/10: Shows that I'm neutral on. They had enough value to not waste my time but didn't really do much for me either, or a mixed bag between great and terrible elements. 4/10: Shows that I mildly regret having taken the time to watch. The 4/10 range is mostly shows that aren't actively bad, but instead shows that I feel took up my time and didn't give me anything in return. There are a few here though that had both good and bad to offer, but ultimately the bad came through more strongly. 3/10: Garbage. Shows that I dislike with at least some amount of passion and will frequently rant about given the chance. 2/10: Why was this made? I often find myself ironically enjoying my 2s. 1/10: The worst anime I have ever seen. Like 10/10, this is the lower bound of my list. If I find a show worse the previous 1/10 will become a 2/10 and my shows below 6/10 will shift slightly up as is reasonable. |
