Frickin' love his voice for Genos!

I think his Genos voice and acting is fine for the character, I just wish he wasn't enunciating so bloody much. Clearly pronouncing every syllable and sound of every word is a bit annoying and I feel it's holding back his performance a bit. For all I know this could be a specific direction the voice director gave him. People often forget that the actor isn't the one making executive decisions. All the recordings have to be approved by the voice director and producers before they're mastered. If they don't like a certain take, all the director has to do is say to the actor "let's try that again" and hit record.

I think he does Genos perfectly well, this is how I imagined a gay robot voice. I'm not kidding

His voice is sorta mediocre as Genos regularly, but like BioZero216 said, he sounds amazing when he screams. I think he was just miscast... He's not very good at being stoic; he comes across as sorta bored. I could see him doing some big over the top bara GAR anime wonderfully, though.

I don't understand why they had to make Genos sound like a snob. It did not really fit.

I think his Genos sounds fine. Not the best dub voice I've ever heard, but so far I take no issue with it.

BioZero216 | Sep 15, 8:40 AM
@AltoRoark Fair enough, however Genos is supposed to have a deep voice. He sounded deep in the sub too. He's also supposed to sound calm and stoic and if you think Zach showed no emotion when needed, watch the scene where he attacks the meteor in the dub. His screaming was incredible.

AltoRoark | Sep 14, 12:43 PM
@BioZero216 To start off, the voice is way too deep for the character. Besides that, the acting itself is dreadful. Very little flare or range is to be found in his performance, and sounds as if he's merely reading a script without actually being the character.

They really should have had someone far more experienced to play the role instead. A measly 2 years is nothing. The overall dub other than Zach is spot-on and a job well done. The choice for Genos is a blemish on what could have been nearly perfect. I mean no kind of ill will toward Zach as a person, but he was not fit for the job at all IMHO.

BioZero216 | Sep 11, 7:08 PM
@AltoRoark He has been in the business for two years, so he is not an amateur. And his Genos is fine. Why does no one ever give any reason why his Genos is bad? There's literally nothing wrong with it.

AltoRoark | Sep 8, 7:43 PM
Why did they have this guy voice Genos? Just...why?? To pick such an ameteur for a prominent role in an otherwise splendid dub is appalling.
