There's something about Nishizawa Shiena and her performance in Cross that mesmerizes me. It's not particularly elaborate, but it's seemingly arranged with a flow that manages to resonate with and grip me. Feels like if I take a breath, I could float and sort of be lifted. I sense it in her other releases, but the experience is short/broken up in others, while it's exemplified in Cross.

I don't know how to explain it. A couple other tracks that do this:
Anthony Greninger: Finding Love, Peace on Earth.

I don't understand why Cross stands out. Typically, I prefer instrumentals, such as Yasunori Mitsuda Scars of Time, over music with vocals. Within my collection, the highest standards are set by examples such as Utada Flavor of Life Ballad, Kokia Fate, or even something a bit more mainstream like Yanagi Nagi mnemonic (I'm a fan of her angelic voice), or BUCK TICK Snow White. Whatever it is, it has me watching for more Nishizawa Shiena works. Don't let that feeling fade!
