Studio Ghibli Withdraws Character Goods Shop From PR Building of Nuclear Power Plant

Studio Ghibli announced in the official website that they will withdraw a character goods shop in the PR building of a nuclear power plant in Fukushima prefecture. The character goods has been running since 2005 and a controversy has recently been aroused in the internet. Hoshino Koji, the president of Studio Ghibli, apologized in the official website that they have been indiscreet about the possible misunderstanding caused by the character goods shop.

It's not whether the plant itself is clean. It's the results of the plant. It is never safe. Wastes are never clean. The results of Nuclear are always bad.

Just wait till you hear Hayao Miyazaki's opinion.

I loled at this but yeah Ghibli is big on the real issues in their anime movies and this was a good idea to save face.

maybe it was there because utilities were included... but the rent went up recently... happened to the comic shop down town where i live

aww, that's a shame, i used to live in the town next to that. it wasn't in the nuclear power plant but in a small center nearby that was called the Energy Building but i didn't even realize it was associated with the power plant, i just thot it was a cute little community area with a cafe and monthly flea markets. i used to get a 100 bucks every year for living so near so many power plants that used to supply power to most of Tohoku, haha.
