Chief Editor of Monthly Shonen Sirius Arrested For Inflicting Bodily Injury

According to Sankei, Igarashi Hideyuki, the chief editor of Monthly Shonen Sirius, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting bodily injury on a woman. He allegedly picked a quarrel with women at a bar in Shinjuku and slapped one of them on the back of her head. The woman was not acquainted with him. Igarashi denied having committed the crime that he doesn't remember the incident because he was drunk at the moment. Kodansha dismissed Igarashi from the position on July 6th.

Lol, you're still responsible for anything that you do when you're drunk. Being drunk is not an excuse, otherwise drunk driving shouldn't be a crime.

lol i gotta give him props for actually using that excuse while sober.

that woman though should probably not have gone as far as to have him arrested unless shes in a coma, lost a tooth (or two), or can't perform (probably due to the lost tooth or teeth).

My friends who lived in Japan for a time said you could get away with pretty much anything if you were drunk at the time. So this dude must of really caused a commotion for all this to happen.

Apparently it's more normal there than other places.

Getting drunk and slapping someone at a bar one night is hardly reason to be fired from your job, however.
