Studio 4°C Produces a Short 3D Anime of Manga Orion

According to Studio 4°C, a short 3D anime of Shirow Masamune's manga Orion was premiered at Short Short Film Festival & Asia 2010 to be held on June 11th in Tokyo.

Aoki Yasuhiro directed the 2.5min long anime and it will also be shown at SIGGRAPH 2010 to be held this July in Los Angeles.

Hm... never was a fan of 3D in anime since cell shading, although it is npr, it still doesn't allow the flexibility artists need for placing edges and lines. Mechs work, robots, buildings and background objects work... human characters or any other organic "things"... don't. Don't get me wrong, I don't know what I love more, 3D or anime but since I like Studio 4°C, I put my faith in them to mix it up really good and give me "3D anime" :>

Hmmm, although I am not much of a fan of 3D animation, I love Studio 4°C! And because of that, I will check it out. :)
