Shounen Jump+ Celebrates 10th Anniversary with One-shot Anime Project

Shueisha's digital manga platform Shounen Jump+ has announced a commemorative anime initiative to mark its 10th anniversary. The Shounen Jump+ One-shot Anime Project will see three renowned studios—WIT Studio, Production I.G, and Contrail—each producing a standout work based on one-shots originally published on the digital manga platform.
Shounen Jump+'s One-shot Culture
Launched in 2014, Shounen Jump+ has grown into one of Japan's most successful digital manga platforms, generating major hits like Spy x Family and Kaijuu 8-gou (Kaiju No. 8). In addition to its serialized manga, the service has also cultivated a robust ecosystem of one-shot works—publishing over 2,000 since its inception.
These short-form stories have served both as a proving ground for new artists and a space for established creators to explore unconventional ideas. Notably, Tatsuki Fujimoto's Look Back, which was also adapted into a film, originated as a one-shot on the platform. This legacy forms the backbone of the new anime initiative.
JOEN Leads the Production Framework
The project is being produced by JOEN, a production company formed by CloverWorks and WIT Studio to give animation studios more ownership and creative control over their projects. Since its founding, JOEN has focused on facilitating collaborations that prioritize quality and innovation, often partnering across studios and with independent creators.
For the Shounen Jump+ One-shot Anime Project, JOEN is not only coordinating studio involvement but also overseeing the development process from concept to release. The initiative allows each participating studio to adapt a one-shot in a way that best fits the story, whether through short films or alternative formats, sidestepping traditional serialization constraints.
Looking Ahead
The selected one-shots and further production details will be announced via the Shounen Jump+ app and anniversary website. The anime are expected to debut in theaters first, followed by a global rollout via digital platforms—marking a new experiment in bridging manga, anime, and international audiences.

Except Wit and Production I.G are literally the gold standard of the industry. Their reputation is earned.
I didn't say something about Wit. People are only remembering Haikyu and Kaiju No. 8 when it comes to this studio which were the only successful recent releases and of course they have done a wonderful job. They are wonderful studio when it comes to producing shows but most of their recent releases were meh and not very well received.
Also
even if it is a much better studio than Contrail,
which means I recognize that Contrail currently hasn't done something noticeable or praiseworthy but that doesn't mean automatically means that Production I.G deserves the renown title just because they are an older studio and have animated popular series. But since you included Wit in the conversation , currently from these 3 studio only Wit deserves to be called renowned . They have extremely more consistent with quality animation and series lately
