Newtype channel conducted an online poll on the popularity of anime characters in 1980's, 1990's and 2000's. The final results was announced in Newtype March issue.

I'm mostly interested in the past since I'm curious. I think Shinji was a well-portrayed (if not the best) boy with an inferiority complex, but number one male on the 90s? Dunno about that. I guess that's what it is -- an unconventional, refreshing char that is the main hero.

Hiei and Arslan! *bends arm* I have hiei in my favorites! Hiyama (Shiro, Guy, and maito?!?!) = 90s God with Midorikawa Hikaru!.

At first I couldn't see Sailor Moon, but HOORAY! She is there! No surprise!

And I see LODOSS! I SEE LODOSS! ! !

No characters from Naruto or Bleach. That's great.
Sugisaki Ken being 13th is awesome, although I don't know how he managed to reach that place.

Finally some Gintama faces!
I'm really glad Gintoki made it to top 10 and what's better is that Sugita-san is the only '00 male seiyuu who got 2 charas voiced by him in top 10 (Kyon and Gintoki), yeah! <(^-^<) (>^-^)>
Koizumi shouldn't even be there (oh well...) and cheers for Yuki who beat annoying Haruhi! ^O^
