Publishing company Micro Magazine announced a television anime adaptation of kiki's "Omae Gotoki ga Maou ni Kateru to Omouna" to Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta node, Outo de Kimama ni Kurashitai (Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword!) light novel on Monday.

kiki originally began penning the adventure fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in January 2018. Micro Magazine began publishing the series under its GC Novels imprint with illustrations by Kinta in July 2018 and released the fourth volume in January 2020. Illustrator kodamazon will replace Kinta fifth volume onwards, which will have an exclusive electronic release on May 30.

Sunao Minakata began drawing a manga adaptation in December 2018. Micro Magazine released the seventh volume on Monday, which also features the anime announcement on its wraparound band (pictured right).

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in February and April 2020, respectively. The fourth novel volume went on sale in August 2021. The seventh manga volume shipped on January 21.

Synopsis
Flum Apricot was never meant to be a hero. Despite zero stats across the board and a power she can't even use, she somehow finds herself included in a party of heroes. But Flum's life hits rock bottom when the party's renowned sage, Jean Inteige, decides that the useless girl is dead weight, and arranges to have her sold into slavery. Tossed to monsters to be feasted upon for her master's entertainment, Flum makes the desperate choice to reach for a cursed weapon... and something new awakens within her. A grimdark tale about one woman's blood-soaked quest to reclaim her life! (Source: Seven Seas Entertainment)

@EcchiGodMamster How would you know that if you don't read it first. You can't complain about being baited when you don't even try something out first. Also, I would just like to comment that you have almost every single entry of MHA & Dragon Ball on your list despite those series mostly having guys.

you're highly misinterpretting what i said.... i didn't say i WON'T watch anime full of dudes...

and why would you mention Dragon Ball? i've been watching Dragonball since TV/VCR was our only option and the internet barely existed..... although to be fair, you're kind of correct in the sense that if DB came out TODAY and wasn't a classic i grew up with, i more than likely wouldn't watch it

hence why i only watched ep 1 of the Kenshin remake

@EcchiGodMamster Why don't you check out the source material before trying a new anime out? Maybe then you wouldn't be complaining about being baited so much.

Expelled from yuusha party, but yuri + dark fantasy? Hmmm...

@Nachtwandler_21 I don't think that such details really matter to anyone, whether it's a male-focused adventure or an all-female adventure is what most people care about. It makes it hard to tell how justified this or that titles are praised or criticized. Although everything would be much simpler if people spoke sincerely about their preferences and intipathies.

@tragedydesu this one has a designated love interest, no harem. There are hints that one more character may have a crush on FMC but that is all (and FMC is only interested in one girl). Also, while FMC has a unique ability it cannot be concidered cheating or OP because it is very gimmiky and has a bunch of drawbacks.

I was gonna say something about the longe name as usual (maybe) and then I saw soo its a girl this time?

Not sure though that synopsis seems kinda hmm or is it just a bait and switch

@PichiStyle

Well I'll definitely give it a try, but I'm tired of being baited by waifu only promo art only to see hoards of usually dumbass men on screen

@EcchiGodMamster Not really. Villains vary from eldritch horrors to dudes and other women. In this series, if they are not on good terms with the MC, they all tend to be real assholes, regardless of gender/species xD

i wanna be excited, but lemme guesss...

the villains are all a bunch of dudes?

Yuri GL!? Fascinating.

@tragedydesu As I said, it's not so much a question of quality as it is a question of interest in certain tags. I seriously don't understand why people are so afraid to just say "it's not my type" and instead try to rationalize why a show for a different audience is bad in and of itself.

@Nachtwandler_21
i saw the 'Yuusha Party' in the title and i assumed it was another generic isekai until i checked the tags
i love dark fantasy and yuri so i'll probably enjoy this one

btw i have no problem with the isekai theme itself , it becomes a problem when you mix it with generic stuff like harem/cheating ability ...

Apr 28, 2:33 AM by tragedydesu

@tragedydesu while it uses the RPG mechanics in the setting, it is not an isekai (in fact,
).

@deltahalo241 like tastes differ of cause but I personally like the LNs. The contrast bertween how damn fucked up the world setting is and how cute is MC relationships with her love interest and closer friends are is pretty nice.

The action is pretty good and monsters are straight up like they came from Junji Itou works. Also, MCs unique skill is powerful but very gimmiky so she does not win every fight with ease and other characters also have their time to shine. Oh, and it is one of the cases there MC will brutally kill enemies when they actually deserve it (unless they will tone it down).

Roll Over & Die as well as I Want To Love You Till Your Dying Day? It's a good time for dark fantasy yuri! (Hopefully this one is good, I've not read the source material so I've got no idea on that front)

Apr 28, 1:38 AM by deltahalo241

just another generic ise ... hold on a GL/dark fantasy ?

looks really interesting

Apr 28, 12:52 AM by tragedydesu

I'm so happy that this is happening!!
Just back in January I made some comment how cool it would be if Roll Over and Die would get an anime (over here), but I didn't actually think that the chances for it were any good^^

The source material can be pretty graphic so I'm curious how they're going to adapt that. Hoping for the best 🥰

I would maybe expect them to adapt 2 volumes of the light novel story because that's about as far as the manga is (I could be wrong of course)
It's also announced that the lightnovel is being continued. It's finally out of hiatus
