'Kijin Gentoushou' Unveils Additional Staff, First Promo for Spring 2025

The official website of the Kijin Gentoushou (Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentoushou) television anime revealed additional staff, ending theme, and the first promotional video on Wednesday. The anime series, which was previously scheduled for Summer 2024, will air in two consecutive cours, debuting with a one-hour special on March 31 at 9:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by MBS, and BS Fuji.

Rapper Hilcrhyme (Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan) is performing the ending theme "Senya Ichiya," featuring Izumi Nakasone of HY. The song is previewed in the promotional video below.

Kazuya Aiura (Assassins Pride) is helming the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab. Deko Akao (Ragna Crimson) is handling the series composition and Tarou Ikegami (Seiken Densetsu) is designing the characters.

Ryuuichi Takada (MONACA) (Summertime Render), Keiichi Hirokawa (MONACA) (Shangri-La Frontier), and Kuniyuki Takahashi (MONACA) (Liar Liar) are composing the music.

The anime adapts Motoo Nakanishi's historical fantasy novels, which he originally penned on the novel publishing website Arcadia from January 2013 to May 2016, followed by a continuation on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September–October that year. Futabasha began publishing the novel with illustrations by Tamaki in June 2019. The 14th volume was published in November 2023.

Yuu Satomi began serializing a manga adaptation in Monthly Action magazine in September 2021. Futabasha released the seventh volume on September 11, with the eighth volume going on sale on March 19.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in February 2022. The eighth novel volume is scheduled to go on sale on February 18, with the seventh manga volume shipping on July 8.

I am keeping my expectations low especially in terms of animation. I just hope they don't postpon it further.

@Rimuru0001 Don't have high expectations because the studio is Yokohama Animation Lab, and trusting them after Sasakoi's production failure is not a good idea.

1 hour first episode and two consecutive cours, I couldn't ask for more.
