Publishing company Enterbrain announced an anime adaptation of Wakatsu Yatsuki's Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai (The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter) light novel on Friday.

Yatsuki began writing the boys love fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in March 2018. Enterbrain began publishing the series with illustrations by Kikka Ohashi in February 2019. The third volume was released in September 2021. The series has a cumulative 1.4 million copies in circulation.

A manga adaptation by Kazuki Irodori began serialization in March 2020 on the B's Log Comic site. The sixth volume was released on Friday.

Yen Press licensed both versions in English. The light novel's second volume was released on June 18, and the third volume is scheduled to go on sale on March 18. The manga's fifth volume will ship on December 10.

Synopsis
One day, twenty-nine-year-old accountant Seiichirou Kondou is accidentally transported to another world. As compensation, the Romany Kingdom promises to take care of all his living expenses, but the workaholic Seiichirou still asks for a job. Once he's placed in the Royal Accounting Department, he starts whipping his lackadaisical colleagues into shape. But when he gets in over his head and nearly dies from overwork, the handsome Commander Aresh steps in to save him, and the two develop a unique physical relationship...as a form of medical treatment?! I didn't realize until I saw the listing that this is a BOYS LOVE ISEKAI?!?! That sounds fuckin' awesome! I can't believe it's happening, but I'm actually excited for an isekai anime! I hope this scratches the same itch that Ling Qi did.

Is this actually the first BL LN that received an adaptation? At least in recent years? I remember one adaptation of a novel, but if I’m not mistaken, it was in a traditional book format.
