I wanted to say, FINALLY, something new from Sunrise, that is not Gundam or Love Live.

But it sounds like just another boring idol show, aimed to sell merchandise.

God... Sunrise is so fucking dead.

@uncleqrow Judging by the synopsis, this is not an idol or mahou shoujo, but something like a magical CGDCT SoL. It’s too early to draw any conclusions, but subjectively at the moment the show does not look like an action or multimedia bishoujo project in THAT sense. But who knows? We only have an announcement and an official website with basic information.

TBH from the premise of the title, and that it was an original, I seriously thought that this was another P.A. originals at first. But apparently, it's by Sunrise instead.... omoshiro~
(I mean, c'mon. This REALLY sounds like a title P.A. would came up with)

A Sunrise idol show? So you mean a Love Live-alter ?

But from the synopsys, there seems to be magic/supernaturals involved. So a Sunrise Mahou Shoujo instead maybe ?

Or both? A Sunrise idol-mahou-shoujo ?

Edit: Hollup! Just watched the PV. Are you sure Love Live has nothing to do with this!?

Could be fun, but it's not giving me the Little Witch Academia vibes I would've wanted.

April eh...

So 5 cute girls, and no idea.

It's an original.

Seems like there is a synopsis? Uhh. Really could go either way

It does feel like maybe they're trying too hard, though the yearly or seasonal whatever this is, its not new, so the trend is probably going to continue for a long long time

@Fail_Man_X You're just trying to project your logic onto me when I don't really care how much or how little anime is made in genres that I'm not a big fan of. If you still don't have enough anime in your favorite genres, then why not look for ones you haven't watched yet? Turn to some classics? Maybe even discover something new? You've watched about 300 titles in 13 years here, I doubt you've watched all the shows that should or even just might interest you.

Of course, you may still desperately doubt my sincerity and perceive seasonal anime as some kind of constant heated competition between genres, but is it worth your time and emotional state?

@RobertBobert I doubt the sincerity of your original question, and it comes off as you complaining that there are too many all-girl shows. We get a handful every season, though I don't know what season we got 10+, and while I'm not asking for more, it's definitely not too much. So, yeah, I took a shot at romance and fantasy shows.

I'm all for an urban fantasy with magical girls, but the CG idol dance jumpscared me. 💀

I'll give this anime a chance, but I've got CG-idol-dance-scene fatigue just as much as the next person. Sigh.

(I tried commenting here three times earlier today, and none of them went through. Fourth time's the charm, I guess.)

@Fail_Man_X "Interpret", huh. I have a counter question. Why should I, in 2024, be interested in the reason for the excessive amount of isekai anime when most people either know or guess the reasons for creating so many similar shows? And what's wrong with wondering about the reason for such a sharp increase in the number of original bishoujo shows, when both you and I are well aware that creating a multimedia franchise from scratch requires a lot more money and effort than adapting the another isekai LN or high school rom-coms that you also, for some reason unknown to me, doesn't like?

I understand that you took a random number, but excuse me, in this season alone we received at least 5 such shows, and in the past even more than 10. Can this be called an insufficient number? So stop all this talk about hypocrisy and other “no, you!” for someone else. I'm never complained about anime outside of my radar and after completing a decent number of CGDCT and general all-female shows that are interesting to me for that or this reasons, I'm clearly not someone you can attribute complaints about all-female or bishoujo shows to.

@RobertBobert You were literally the first person to comment, and your post can easily be inferred as "why are we getting so many all-girl shows?" Question: did you ask the same thing in regards to the "dude in a fantasy world surrounded by cute girls" show that was announced yesterday?

If the answer is "no", that's honestly fine. If 10 isekai/isekai-adjacent fantasy shows and 10 high school romances aren't enough for you, and you think there are too many all-girl show, that's your business, but don't be a hypocrite about it.

😴😴😴😴 so unoriginal

Sep 5, 10:06 AM by IzayoiSk

@EcchiGodMamster At first glance it's possible, but this is Sunrise, so I think it will at least be quality. Until this time, Bandai valued their reputation.

Sep 5, 9:14 AM by RobertBobert

@Piromysl

yea i was thinking the same thing

doesn't look creative enough :/

Sep 5, 9:07 AM by EcchiGodMamster

@Fail_Man_X But you were definitely the one who almost openly rejoiced that this was "not another rom-com or isekai", as if all current anime belong to those genres and we hardly get all-female/bishoujo/yuri bait anime enough. I didn't mean to start a fight with you. If you got that impression, I apologize in advance, that was not my intention. But i'm tired of how people create antagonism between audiences of different genres or themes just because they don't get, or rather feel like they don't get, enough anime in their favorite genres. Although now is the time when there is more than enough anime of any type.

Sep 5, 8:46 AM by RobertBobert

@RobertBobert I don't know why you're trying to pick a fight with me. I didn't say anything about the quality of those shows. I'm also not the one who commented on the announcement of a show to wonder about why we get 2-3 per season of its type, despite that number being relatively small, or calling it generic. If anyone in this topic is complaining, it's not me.

Sep 5, 8:37 AM by Fail_Man_X

@Fail_Man_X What are you talking about? We also get a lot of all-female and bishoujo titles of various types, as well as other genres. The last couple of years have been at least 4-5 every season. I can understand that you want more and there is nothing wrong with that. But this is clearly not a reason to be antagonistic to other popular genres.

Sep 5, 8:18 AM by RobertBobert

@RobertBobert The difference is in the quantity of shows being produced.

Sep 5, 8:13 AM by Fail_Man_X

@Fail_Man_X I don't see much difference since you can say the same about generic all-female bishoujo shows like this. Purely a matter of taste.

Sep 5, 7:58 AM by RobertBobert

another idol show japan will love this
