Manga, yes. Especially after the characters became a full-fledged couple and most of the arcs essentially amounted to the introduction of disposable rivals trying to break up the central couple. But the anime itself, in my opinion, was a typical agnsty ecchi yuri show.

@RobertBobert Actually, one of the reasons why Citrus is so hated is (besides this one you mentioned) even by it's own niche ommunity is because of the manga overstaying it's welcome, hard. Way to long, and achieved that by having way too many arcs...many which happen to be fundamentally identical to one another.

Also, the fans of Yagakimi believe the show melodramatic ecchi tropes throwed off many normies out of yuri hypetrain, which would have damaged their show potential for popularity. Which may or not may be true.

@hlepme Honestly, I do not know. I enjoyed the show during the broadcast. Since I perceived it as a typical agnsty yuri and it didn’t raise my eyebrows. But apparently there were several reasons for this, because in addition to the popularity you mentioned, the show also came out during MeToo and many journalists did not like the fact that the show romanticizes harassment. Who knows, maybe if Yosuga no Sora or Oreimo had come out in our time, they would have received a lot more buzz than they did back in the day.

@hlepme I thought many people were familiar with the infamous "rules" that most romantic and sexual taboos don't apply when judging slash shows or ships. People like to say that the fandom's hatred of Citrus belies this, but in reality, hatred of this manga and its adaptation is the exception to the rule. However, I don't think that in 2023, sex and violence ecchi manga is something unusual or particularly provocative. We live in a world where Ikkitousen and Queen Blade have long been boomer shows.

@Yuri-Crusader I checked the manga and there haven't been a single guy so far, you are in for a treat.

@Yuri-Crusader

i dont know if you're gonna watch Slave or not, but theres basically only ONE guy throughout 95% of it, including bg characters

so were extremely blessed this Winter considering how rare shows like these are now

Oh man, Shingo Fuji would have been perfect for this, shame. Still looks decent.

with both THIS and Mato Seihei no Slave coming out in Winter, Winter season will be PEAK and my favorite season of 2024 if not the past few years

I like the teaser. Catchy tunes

But Japan!! Hear my warning!! If I see a single irritating anime male in this that drools over the cute girls you get 1/10 and I will curse you🤬🤬🤬🤬

I only want my magical lesbians and I want them to touch each other,,,YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

I read the first 3 chapters (or I was more looking at the pictures Lol) But anyhow the manga so far looks promising. Lesbians should do lewd things to each other for my enjoyment's sake Hehehehehehehe 😋😋

Koga-chan is expanding and diversifying her career? Now we can see her not only in rom-coms, SoL and action, but also in ecchi.
