'Majo to Yajuu' Reveals Main Cast, Staff, Teaser Promo, Winter 2024 Premiere
Television channel TBS opened an official website for the Majo to Yajuu (The Witch and the Beast) television anime series on Thursday. The website revealed the main cast, staff, teaser visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere on January 2024 on TBS and BS11.You Taichi (Princess Principal) and Toshiyuki Morikawa (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 4: Diamond wa Kudakenai) are starring as Guideau and Ashaf, respectively.
Takayuki Hamana (Arte, Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi) is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab. Hiroya Iijima (Jikan no Shihaisha, Keishichou Tokumubu Tokushu Kyouakuhan Taisakushitsu Dainanaka: Tokunana) is designing the characters.
The anime adapts Kousuke Satake's fantasy manga which started serialization on Kodansha's Young Magazine the 3rd in November 2016. The tenth volume shipped on August 19 last year. Kodansha USA announced in October 2019 that they licensed the manga for English publication. The tenth volume went on sale on February 28.

As far as I understand, the translation of majo as witch is basically a localization of a foreign term. But what does it mean in original Japanese? Really a woman sorceress?

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IM SO EXCITED!! I absolutely adore this story, and its characters. They look amazing, hopefuly we can get a long adaptation and a faithful one :D im so so so happy, one of my most anticipated animes for 2024
