'Bungou Stray Dogs' Gets Fifth Season in Summer 2023

The 13th and final episode of the fourth season of Bungou Stray Dogs announced on Wednesday that a fifth season is scheduled to premiere in July 2023.

The anime series adapts Kafka Asagiri and Harukawa35's supernatural action manga, which began in Monthly Young Ace in December 2012. Kadokawa published the 23rd volume on December 28.

Produced by Bones, the first television anime aired in split cours in Spring and Fall 2016. The 13th manga volume bundled an original video anime episode in August 2017. The third season premiered in Spring 2019, while the fourth season premiered on January 4.

The Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple anime film premiered in Japan in March 2018, earning approximately 550 million yen (US$4.85 million) at the box office. Crunchyroll screened the film in the United States and Canadian theaters in May of that year.

Bungou Stray Dogs Wan!, adapting the spin-off manga by Neco Kanai, aired in Winter 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in 2016 and shipped the 22nd volume on January 17. Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and distributed the first two seasons on home video in March and September 2018 and the third season on June 2020. The company also released the film and third season last June.

The Bungou Stray Dogs: Beast live-action film, based on the stage play adaptation, opened in theaters in Japan on January 7, 2022.

Ah, how satisfying it is to see my favorite going so far without losing quality~ Serves it right to shut up people in my country who said it was bad because "it´s too slow" or "don´t have any action". Now we got high quality simuldub and updated tanko release. Hehe.

Anyways, it´s the same case back in 2016. Skips one season and you can call season by cour or by part, whatever you want to call. In series it´s all numbered. An artist on Twitter made a commemorative Akutagawa to celebrate the 50th episode.

I saw someone commenting in s4 page that "it´s always the same formula". Brace yourselves, anime only watchers.

Damn. I should continue the series sometime. I liked it in general but stopped mid second season as I had to many shows to watch compared to the amount of spare time I had.

It may technically be considered as "Season 4 Part 2", but it is still marketed as "Season 5". Alas, so the latter should be followed.

Its not really a case of people wanting, the studios themselves use Part 1 and 2 when its the same season but split cour like Spy x Family, its not the case here since the studio is calling S5.

Hype! Being able to watch the last ep of S4 knowing that this is just around the corner is happiness, lol. Jokes aside though, S4 has felt like a buildup season so it's very pleasing to know that we won't have to wait too long for the sequel to come around.

Unlike many here, I think I would've preferred if this season was titled S4P2 instead because it feels more like it, lmao. It's more or less the same arc that is being covered, right?

I may be missing out on a lot due to my lack of knowledge of Japanese, but I was impressed that the apparent majority of the English or even Russian comments under the announcement video were written by female viewers.
