Lupin III, the great phantom thief—the man who loves freedom and lives in romance—never fails to steal his prey. The Cat's Eye are the ladies who run the night splendidly and create commotion in the world. They are sometimes phantom thieves, other times three beautiful sisters who run a café.

The mutual target is "Three Paintings"—which were left behind by the three sisters' father, leading to the dream showdown between Lupin and the Cats. Amidst the mix-up of the charming characters, the story eventually leads to the amazing "secret" hidden in the picture... A retro and stylish exhilarating crime action unfolds!

From detective vs thief to thief vs thief but female teams

I was surprised because I thought Lupin would eventually do a Detective Conan or City Hunter collaboration instead of a Cat's Eye collaboration. But I'm looking forward to your collaboration with Cat's Eye!

Now this is a thing. The next step has to be Lupin 3rd vs Kaito Kid.

I'm a bigger fan of City Hunter than Cat's Eye, but I think it should be a great concept to have these two thieves face off with each other. I can't wait for Fujiko to meet the Cat's Eye sisters, that'd be an even fiercer rivalry.

Also Pink Jacket 80s Lupin is back.

The animation could be prettier though. Lupin III and Cat's Eye deserve better if their anniversaries are being celebrated.

This looks so bad with this cheap cgi.

Not a fan of this CG at all, but I may still check this out...I've never heard of this Cat's Eye thing though

While the animation isn't near the level of The First (and understandably so as the budget of the two movies is vastly different), I think these two series can work very well with each other! In fact, I think this can work a lot better than the Lupin vs Conan stuff. Still can't believe there's a new pink jacket project! And who knows, maybe this is the first step in finally getting a Lupin vs City Hunter movie! Perhaps in 2027 when it will be City Hunter's 40th anniversary and Lupin's 60th.
And then for Lupin's 100 year anniversary, they all join up Avengers style to finally take down the Black Organization once and for all, at the exact time that Detective Conan reaches the end of its story.

I feel like it just devalues the actual character versus villain confrontation as you stop expecting any development and just watch it like a weekly show with the monster of the week.

This makes 2 CGI Lupin films in a row now. The last one was really good, so I have hope for this one, despite the CGI not looking nearly as good as the previous film. This should be a very entertaining crossover.

I'm way too excited about this! Although I feel like my interest in the Lupin franchise is getting a little out of hand now. :P Still... big YAY!

Yay! More Lupin, and this crossover atleast thematically fits I guess. Lupin looks kind of weird in the trailer, somehow the rest of the Lupin gang look okay though. I guess Lupin is wearing the pink jacket because the third Lupin series and the cat's eye manga and anime run over lapped with each other. The setting being the 80's is also cool.

Cool to see this project along with the new City Hunter movie.

If Lupin doesn't meet Ryo Saeba in this we riot

Sep 21, 2022 11:43 PM by MrRiddlyDiddly

I don't mind, but why not a full manga adaptation or a crossover with City Hunter?
