'Kanojo mo Kanojo' Gets Second Anime Season

The official website of the Kanojo mo Kanojo (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) television anime announced on Friday that a second season is in production.

Produced by Tezuka Productions, the first anime season aired in 12 episodes in Summer 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the first season with subtitles and an English dub, respectively.

Hiroyuki began drawing the romantic comedy manga in Weekly Shounen Magazine in March 2020. Kodansha shipped the 12th volume today.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English for digital release in February 2021. The ninth volume went on sale on June 7.

Synopsis
Naoya Mukai is having the time of his life after his childhood friend Saki Saki finally accepts one of his countless confessions. Ensuring that their relationship will stay strong, he spares no effort in showering affection to his now beloved girlfriend.

However, one afternoon, another girl named Nagisa Minase suddenly confesses to Naoya following months of preparation. Even though he politely rejects her, Nagisa's irresistible charm and determination continue to attract Naoya. Wanting to fulfill both Saki and Nagisa's desires, Naoya ends up proposing a crazy idea—to date the two of them simultaneously, with both girls fully aware. This unprecedented state of affairs ultimately causes wacky and hilarious situations in whatever they do to keep their unusual relationship going. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

For me, polygamy concept is not something out of ordinary. As long all the girls happy each other and the man can backed it financially why not?
Maybe our western audience here cant really take different romance approach like this.

Anyways very good news. As somewhat 'old' watcher here, i wanted more idea/concept brings into this anime industry even thought it sounds silly or controversial. I'm the person who rather valued those idea/concept more than execution.

Yeah, true polygamy harem is quite rare. But I find 100 girlfriends manga better example of that concept then KmK

I could have sworn they already announced that season 2 was coming literally right after the first season ended, it's been in the back of my mind that season 2 was already in production, and apparantly this is the first time they announced it. Weird.
