A third season for the Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest) anime series was announced at the Maboroshi no Bouken to Kiseki no Kaigou (Phantom Adventure and Miraculous Encounter) original video anime's advance screening and talk show event on Saturday. The event also revealed the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured).

The lead staff from the previous seasons are returning for the third season at animation studio asread. The main cast are also reprising their roles.

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou adapts Ryou Shirakome's adventure fantasy novel, which he originally posted on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2013. Overlap began releasing the novel with illustrations by TakayaKi in June 2015 and shipped the 12th volume on January 25. The light novel has a cumulative 5 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

RoGa began drawing a manga adaptation on the Comic Gardo web manga portal in February 2016. The tenth compiled volume shipped on May 25.

The 13 episode-first season, produced by asread. and White Fox, premiered in Summer 2019. The second season, co-produced by asread. and studio MOTHER, aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2022. The Maboroshi no Bouken to Kiseki no Kaigou original video anime will ship with the 13th novel volume on September 25.

Funimation simulcast both seasons with subtitles and subsequently with an English dub. The company also released the first season on home video in September 2020.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel for digital release in February 2017 and published the 12th e-book volume on June 23. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and its manga adaptation for physical release last July and September 2017, respectively. The publisher shipped the 11th light novel volume last April and the eighth manga volume on April 12.

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou 3rd Season on MAL

20 of 66 Comments Recent Comments

Most of the comments, and especially the rantings, are pointless.

This is NOT a series, but a completed novel (and one of the very best at that), so it certainly won't have 20 seasons or whatnot. This 3rd season should conclude the story, period, and job done.

Yes, the anime quality is extremely bad, especially the CGI, and that's really upsetting. But the novel is a masterpiece, and you should read it instead of complaining. The anime version just butchered 2/3 of the material, so it's no wonder it sometimes feels inconsistent, and knowing how densely packed, straight to the point and devoid of any beating around the bush the novel is (despite its richness in characters development), it's no wonder the anime feels like an empty shell in comparison. Even the monsters are ridiculous (the worst being the Devourer : how a transparent, gigantic slime covering square miles ended up as a ridiculous purple Mr Hankey is beyond understanding).

But still, the main plot and characters (and a lot are missing, unfortunately) are there, and you should read the novel (or the manga if you're lazy, but it's not close to getting finished) rather than judging from this failure.

Now complaining about the harem is stupid as well, for both reasons : 1) there's none in the main story, it starts at the very last sentence of the book (and of course it's Arifureta After starting point on Earth), and 2) the whole Nagumo family IS THE ACTUAL MC, not Hajime alone, so you can't push it out of the picture on a whim.

Well, to be honest, Shea will get accepted half way in the 3rd season, so there should be a draft of harem... But they may as well skip this part after all, like they skipped the Hoelscher Empire platoon massacre, the Masaka Inn poster girl voyeurism, Crystabel, Catherine, various castrations of stalkers, Emperor Garhard D. Hoelscher's visit to Heiligh, the whole Verbergen city, the ommitted locations, scenes and characters are too long to be listed, and yet they're absolutely essential to understand the characters interations and the 3rd season. Well, when you'll hear Shea ask for a threesome tonight while Hajime is driving the Fenrir, you'll know it's started... Mwahahahaha !

I guess the original studio actually never intended to follow up with the rest of the book anyway... So maybe there'll be absolutely no harem hint whatsoever in the anime, so stop complaining ! Seeing as the all the brutal and crude scenes have been excluded already, chances as they just aimed at the general public (and aiming at China won't bring it back to its original adult audience anyway), so yeah, the anime not only has been hacked down a lot, it's also been blanded a whole lot.

Wow, just wow! Thank's China!

While I scratch my head over the fact that this trash gets a third season, I'll head over to my boyo Yato shrine and make an offering of 5 Yen and ask for Noragami third season.

you'll get s3 noragami when my hero academia gets cancelled, studio bones isn't gonna stop milking it just now

I forgot about that trashy anime made popular by muricans wanna be's.

So I can grow old and whiter away then.

That show will get like 20+ seasons.

At this point they are gonna adapt the entire thing, which i have 0 complains about tbh. Way to few trashy isekais getting lengthy adaptations.

I just noticed how i like these series not because of its qualities as an anime, but because of how it manages to trigger nearly everyone just by its mere existence.

I kinda agree. I do like the series. And while S2 was better S1 in my opinion, I do think this series also deserves a S3.
There are some obvious bad ones out there, why not go and complain about them that why they even exist or got an adaptation?!

It's a bit ironic that this franchise is getting a 3rd season seemingly based on it's popularity in china when Japanese Anime in general doesn't cater to any other country other then it's own.

I wouldn't say Arifureta is really that bad of an Anime just it's not really that great either. Unlike a franchise like "Date A Live" (which has been mentioned before in this thread) which is unbelievable to believe they have even pumped out so many seasons, Arifureta really isn't that unique for being either a Harem or an Isekai. It's like as if "The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar" happen to become popular in another country, Japan would easily pump out another season or two strictly just for the profit to be made.

If this is true that Arifureta is getting a 3rd season just because of it's popularity in china, this just shows there is a clear divide between countries on what is considered quality entertainment.

Last time I checked I thought "Demon Slayer" was the most popular Anime in china. It's a bit of a gap in my perspective from "Arifureta" to "Demon Slayer". Just to be clear I am not really that huge of a fan of "Demon Slayer" either.

I'm not really a fan of Arifureta, but seeing some people got salty just because this got sequel is entertaining to see, they seem to forget that anime doesn't cater to people outside Japan which is good...

anyway, this next season should be interesting to see now that Hajime is travelling together with his classmates including Kouki aka that annoying hero, can't wait to see what kind of shiz that annoying hero would do :)

I sometimes still focus on this anime's storyline, but I also enjoy the fanservice given.

Ngl, I sorta don't care for this anime s1e1 was a big turn off, If I was a anime only guy I would laugh my ass off and avoid this thing. But I'm gonna support this as fan of the series. That and I wanna more of my waifu Shizuku in anime form.

Recently watched the first two seasons and enjoyed them so I'm looking forward to this.

YES, YES, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

While in first season you could have a lot of fun, but there were also disadvantages,in second season the quality level completely raised in all aspects. The second season was a great work, you can see that the creators put in it a lot of effort. And that epic OP and ED... I can't believe that we will have 3rd season!

Then who is the target audience, why make more seasons for anime that isn't popular even in japan?

The first season was incredibly popular in China apparently, having 130 Million views on Bilibili, making it the second most watched anime that season behind Dr. Stone.

So, is just like Date a Live, fundamentally getting lots of seasons cuz the chinese fans love it a lot and fundamentally bank it all by themselves?

I feel like more and more studio(s) are going through some kind of suicidal stage, gonna be a repeat of what happen 4 or 5 years ago

Nothing suicidal, the reverse of it: survival instinct. Medieval Isekai with OP edgy MC who stomps stuff while gets a large harem and whose plot goes by many novels is allways a garanteed profit.
