Synopsys
When Park Eunha dies in modern-day Korea, she awakens in the body of Raeliana McMillan, the eldest daughter of a nouveaux riche baron. However, this is no ordinary world; it's the exact same one as a novel she once read. Beloved by her family, it would seem as though she is in a fairy tale. But Raeliana is far from the main character—she is a mere plot device, whose murder at the hands of her fiancé instigates the entire story.
Raeliana has no intention to accept her fate quietly. She sets her eyes on someone in a position of great power—the vieux riche male protagonist Duke Noah Volstaire Wynknight—aiming to completely change the original story. Using her knowledge of future events, Raeliana offers information to Noah on the condition that he acts as her fake fiancé, but the Duke's two-faced nature throws a wrench in her plans! I knew that one of the Korean villainess shoujo series would get an anime adaptation along with solo leveling's anime announcement, but I didn't think this series would get it. I always thought who made me princess or lady baby would get it, though these series are not finished. This series is one of the first villaines series and it's finished, so I guess it makes sense. The main character is also less annoying than the others.
Anyway, I'm not a big fan of the villaines series but I used to read them sometimes when I was bored. Some no, most are garbage, but I think a few of them deserve an anime adaptation. Especially Your Throne. Of course, even though I knew these series were garbage, I would read them because they were fun, so they are kinda like garbage isekai and harem series right now, so I support anime adaptations.
While I agree that most of them are garbage, but so is generic overpowered male power fantasy harem isekais we have today. I would be so happy if we got alongside of that basic isekai trash line another major line of trash. So we could choose which trash to watch. I think I like villainess trash way better than overpowered male MC isekai trash if I have to choose. Of course both of these mainlines will time to time get their masterpieces like Re;Zero, Overlord, Konosuba, Youjo Senki etc. Currently villainess has only one anime and one masterpiece Hamefura. There could be so much more. Like you said Your Throne probably would be masterpiece if adapted correctly.
It is shame that there are so many villainess stories but most of them are not complete yet. But thankfully you don't need complete series to have anime adaptation. Many anime don't have complete sources when they get anime. Bookworm is one example of that.
I totally agree with you! Many isekai and harem animes are garbage, but they still get anime adaptations because they are less risky and easy money for the studio. Even without these genres, the studios would make other garbage series an anime for money anyway. Then why shouldn't the villaines series be anime too? There are tons of them like the Isekai series and they have a huge readership. I prefer villainess series where the nobles diss each other and the female mc gathers handsome men rather than brainless male mc killing enemies in isekai or gathering anime girls with big tits and ass in harem series.

So, basically another Hamefura copy.
We have currently severe shoujo shortage, so might as well.
Series like this are older and came out before than Hamefura though. (their novels) When I first saw Hamefura I thought IT was a korean shoujo copy .

Dont telly me that Japan is running out of LNs like this, that they now adapt foreign works, lol.
You should ask yourself this first. Why are non Japanese comics accepted in "anime/manga" sites in the first place? (like MAL) The answer? Money. They have two regions that will never have its own identity that will continue to copy Japan and the studios figure, why not make money off that? There's a market for it and profit to be made who cares about technicalities?
Any more questions?

But if they really wanted to adapt such random manhwa then I think Lookism would have been a better choice.

Leaving all the great novels and manga who have better story and give an anime to stupid manhwa..!!
I really don't understand the anime Studios anymore...
Maybe because they realized that half of population is basically untapped potential:
Crunchyroll: Shojo Anime Genre Has Strong Growth Potential
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2022-03-31/crunchyroll-shojo-anime-genre-has-strong-growth-potential/.184215
Villainess manwha is incredible popular in Korea and abroad. If you check the Anime-Planet database with tags 'isekai' and 'manga' by popularity you can see that on the first page alone about half of isekai stories are villainess stories:
https://www.anime-planet.com/manga/tags/isekai
So basically we only had male wish-fulfillment isekais with generic male protagonists and anime industry has totally ignored another half of popular isekais.
Some nice numbers from Webtoon website:
Your Throne (villainess) has 113.9M views,1.5M subscribes.
True Beauty (Shojo): 896.3M views, 7.1M subscribes (one of most popular manwhas on that site).
The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion has 4.9M views in Tappytoon.
How isn't these popular?

So flood gates indeed did open. If this one succeed there is no stopping Korean villainesses because those stories are super popular in Korea and this is perfect opportunity for Crunchyroll to milk Korean audience. Korean TV-production has a long time ignored this popular genre because live-action in fantasy European historical setting would probably be too costly for them to make.
We have like 1-5 generic male MC harem isekai protagonists anime airing in every season. Soon we probably will have same number of villainess anime too.
I'm really exited about this. Finally we are getting different types of isekais!
