Was building up my expectations til I read "sci-fi mystery". Totally thought it'd be a supernatural drama type from the trailer

Now I'm just plain confused lmao

Going back and rewatching the trailer tho... maybe thats why the trees look the way they do? Who knows, hopefully it turns out great.
I heard that the story centred around time travel.

Just don't say that it will also be about a time loop.

Let's see how this goes. Akudama Drive had a long production phase, unfortunately, none of the director's other works received the same fate.

Why do they always get new voice actors or actual actors in stand alone movies?

Presumably because it provides a way to get into professional voice acting without having to commit to an entire series, which would take more recording. I imagine it's akin to how authors often begin writing short stories before full novels.

Well, those two genres have a lot of overlap. The only difference between supernatural occurrences and sci-fi ones is that the latter have in-universe explanations, when you get down to it. Going off what the work has within it, supernatural drama isn't far off.
