Seems promising idol anime. Interesting to see Oikawa Kei directing it. And the writer is the author of OreSuki

Debut song isn't anything special, but it warrants a chance at least.

Idol anime adapted form LN? Well, that's new.

Most likely he was simply asked to write an original plot. If he was a mangaka, then the plot would start from the manga. Although in such multimedia projects, this and that always comes out.

I was a fan of the OreSuki anime but I don't think that alone is going to convince me to watch this series

I'm not a fan of the idol genre at all....The only one that grabbed me was Zombieland Saga and that's only because of its comedic factor and the plot twist of them dying and being undercover zombies led by the GOAT known as Mamoru Miyano lol

I'm not sure, but for some reason, the cover reminds me a lot of one work about Idol Battle Royale. Although, judging by the description, he was simply hired to write the plot.

The light novel doesn't even have an entry on mal, there are much better ones deserving an adaptation
