Is this like how Crunchyroll hired TAF, Mappa and IG to do the three webtoon anime and how Netflix hired Mappa to make Yasuke? I.e. hiring a Japanese studios to do a project for them.

This Anime (Japan Dub) also has online streaming and it is earlier than TV broadcast's first channel.

Made by Bilibili?

Oh hell no. Sad, because I do like what I see, but Bilibili is the absolute worst when it comes to their policies and business practices (and they really put Hololive through hell), Tencent is a close second.

Well, there have been worse looking donghua, and the original creator isn't too bad, so, maybe, I guess? Might end up having to bite and start it to get a good reading on it.

Why do they speak Chinese? Is this an adaptation of some kind of Chinese game?

A mecha donghua huh? Well, I guess this will be the first donghua I've actually seen, so that's neat.
