Manga 'Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushuu' Gets TV Anime
Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Miko Yasu's Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushuu (Police in a Pod) manga on Sunday, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2022.Shion Wakayama (SSSS.Dynazenon) and Yui Ishikawa (Violet Evergarden) are starring as Mai Kawai and Seiko Fuji, respectively.

Yasu began serializing the slice of life police manga in Morning magazine in November 2017. Kodansha shipped the 17th volume on June 23. The manga won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Awards in the General category in January.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga digitally in English on May 27 and will publish the third volume on August 10.
Synopsis
Female police officer Kawai had enough of a career she wasn't even that into and was about to hand in her registration, when the unthinkable happened—she met the new, female director of her station! And after spending a little time with this gorgeous role model, Kawai realizes that maybe she isn't quite done being an officer after all. (Source: Kodansha Manga)

I read some of the manga last night. Not going to spoil anything. But those girls seem to be very into each other, which make me more hopeful for some sweet Yuri

I’m actually stunned that the series got an anime adaption. I personally didn’t like it but hey hope it succeeds to being anime of the year whenever it comes out..

They are very similar in concept (comedic female buddy cop story), but otherwise differ in the amount of action and atmosphere.

This is seinen with two female leads, of course it will have some gay jokes or fan service. But otherwise it's pure straight. MC even appears with a guy on one of the manga covers, lol.

First you claiming Yuri is rare is wrong considering the niche targeted audience. That's how market works. The work which is liked by most will be available most. Second, Manga has no Yuri vibes, TV adaptation has no Yuri vibes so wanting/hoping yuri or Shoujo Ai in anime when the source is same is pointless and is just whining and forcing your fetishes onto others. I could understand your opinion if there was no source material. Also your profile proves everything others who have been contradicting you said.

Well, Yuri is a term they use when two females in anime or manga are having a romantic or spiritual relationship. And you need two to tango. So there need to be two girls and this anime has two girls. And the manga has IMO Yuri vibes. So I hoping for something here

It also reminds me of Gunsmith Cats. It's nice to see that the police genre isn't completely dead. I'm watching City Hunter rn and hope they end up making more of them
I guess City Hunter isn't really a 'police' anime, but it is kinda adjacent to the genre. I think MAL should've gone with crime instead of police, the latter is pretty niche.
