'Isekai Shokudou 2' Reveals Additional Staff, Teaser Promo

DMM Pictures revealed on Thursday additional staff, the first key visual (pictured), and a teaser promo for the second season of the Isekai Shokudou (Restaurant to Another World) television anime. The new season premieres in October on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, and AT-X.

Masato Jinbo (Chaos;Child, Senryuu Shoujo) returns to write and direct the series at OLM. Yasukazu Shouji (Kamisama Minarai: Himitsu no Cocotama) is designing the characters based on Katsumi Enami's (Baccano) original drafts.

Thursday's news confirmed that Masaki Tsuchiya (Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san) is returning as the sound director, and Miho Tsujibayashi and TOMISIRO (Hoozuki no Reitetsu) will again compose the music at flying DOG.

Silver Link. produced the 12-episode first season adapting Junpei Inuzuka's light novel for Summer 2017.

Inuzuka began penning the slice of life fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in January 2013. Shufunotomo first published the series under its Hero Bunko imprint with illustrations by Katsumi Enami in February 2015 and shipped the fifth volume in March 2019.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel in English in November 2018. The company released the fifth volume digitally in November 2020 and in print on February 26.

Words cannot express how happy I am to see one of the best hidden gem of 2017 getting a second season (too many underrated wonderful anime do not have this chance). The visual looks as good as season 1, the cast seems to be the same... AND GODDAM I LOVE THIS VIOLIN THEME.

Doesn't look quite as vibrant as the first season but hopefully the feel of the show stays the same.

Hmm...something about this tells me that it's quite a departure from Silver Link's adaptation, which I feel that it's the best representation of Isekai Shokudou.

While I have faith for the original source material, the character designs and animations are a noticeable downgrade, even the promo pictures give me that vibe.
