'Inu-Ou' Reveals Main Cast, Additional Staff, 2022 Premiere

The official website of the Inu-Ou anime movie revealed on Tuesday the main cast, additional staff, and a teaser trailer. The anime will compete at the 78th Venice International Film Festival in September, and open in Japan in early Summer 2022. The movie was originally scheduled for a 2021 premiere.

Lead singer of Ziyoou-vachi, Avu-chan (Devilman: Crybaby), and Mirai Moriyama (Saint☆Oniisan (Movie)) are starring as Inu-Ou and Tomona, respectively.

Masaaki Yuasa (Ping Pong the Animation) is helming the anime at Science Saru, and Akiko Nogi (I Am a Hero live-action) is penning the script. The movie adapts Hideo Furukawa's Heike Monogatari: Inu-Ou no Maki (Tales of the Heike: Inu-Ou) novel, which was released in 2017.

Wow! so we finally find out what kind of movie it will be: historical music. Interesting combination. Teaser looks better than the poster, which does not 'spark joy' for me.

some big names on the cast and the teaser looks spectacular it sells the movie entierly. Hopefully they use a better poster now, current one is too minimalistic

The music sounds great, a combination of both historical and modern.
