'Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime' Anime Film Announces Additional Staff [Update 5/25]

The official website for Mamoru Hosoda's Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime (Belle) anime film revealed additional staff and a new visual (pictured) on Friday. The film will open in theaters in Japan on July 16.

Animation Director (U): Takaaki Yamashita (Bakemono no Ko)
Animation Director, Character Design (Real World): Hiroyuki Aoyama (Summer Wars)
Art Director: Nobutaka Ike (Paprika)
Background Art: Joujo Anri (Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki)
CG Director: Ryou Horibe (Mirai no Mirai), Youhei Shimozawa (Doraemon Movie: Nobita no Takarajima)

Hosoda is writing and directing the film at Studio Chizu, which he co-founded in 2011. Taisei Iwasaki (Kekkai Sensen, Hisone to Maso-tan) is the music director and composer. Jin Kim (Frozen, Big Hero 6) designed the protagonist Belle, and Irish studio Cartoon Saloon directors Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart (Wolfwalkers) are collaborating on the film.

Supporting cast for Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime—including YOASOBI vocalist Rira Ikuta—were revealed earlier this month.
