TV Anime 'Bishounen Tanteidan' Reveals Cast, Promo for Spring 2021

The official website for the television anime adaptation of NisiOisiN's Bishounen Series (Pretty Boy Detective Club) novel revealed main cast and the first promotional video on Friday. The anime is scheduled to air on April 11 at 2:00 a.m. on the ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and its 24 affiliates networks.

Cast
Hyouta Ashikaga: Shougo Yano (Mob Psycho 100 II)
Michiru Fukuroi: Toshiki Masuda (Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season)
Nagahiro Sakiguchi: Taito Ban (Vinland Saga)
Manabu Soutouin: Ayumu Murase (Kemono Jihen)
Sousaku Yubiwa: Gen Satou (Dr. Stone: Stone Wars)

Hajime Ootani (Assault Lily: Bouquet chief director) is helming the series at animation studio Shaft, with Akiyuki Shinbou (Owarimonogatari) is serving as the chief director. Hiroki Yamamura (Fate/Extra: Last Encore) is drawing the character designs.

Kodansha began publishing the novel through its Kodansha Taiga label in October 2015, with illustrations by Kinako (Gatchaman Crowds). The 11th volume shipped last December.

Vertical licensed the novel series in English in November 2019 and released the second volume on December 29.

Exactly my reaction to it!!! I hated that they went with the ugly art from the novel instead of the 10000000% times more superior art from the manga!!!! I was so disappointed that i removed it from my PTW.

1000000000% agree!!! Whoever made the decision to go with the novel's art instead of the manga's has no damn idea what "bishounen" even means!!!!

Mal isn't a reliable source (or database) for that kind of stuff. You can see where he worked on aniDB, for example
