Publishing company Kodansha announced on Tuesday that Hajime Isayama's Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) manga will conclude in the May issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine on April 9, after 11 and a half years run.

The publisher also announced that the editorial department of Weekly Shounen Magazine is planning multiple projects trailing the manga's completion. The February issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, which goes on sale on January 9, will feature the manga on its cover.

Isayama launched the fantasy post-apocalyptic manga in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in September 2009. Kodansha published the 32nd volume on September 9 last year, with the 33rd volume planned for release on Friday (pictured). The 34th and final volume will ship on June 9. Shingeki no Kyojin has a cumulative 100 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation worldwide.

Wit Studio adapted the manga into 25-episode television anime in Spring 2013. Pre-production of the second season began as early as 2014, which aired in Spring 2017. The third season debuted in Summer 2018, with its second half premiering in Spring 2019.

Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season (Attack on Titan Final Season), produced by animation studio MAPPA, began airing on December 7 last year, and is scheduled to run for 16 episodes. Crunchyroll and Funimation are simulcasting the anime with subtitles.

Kodansha Comics licensed the manga in English in October 2011 and published the 32nd volume on December 22. The 33rd volume is planned for an April 27 release. The manga has also been published in multiple foreign languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, and Chinese.

Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and distributed the first season in two Blu-ray and DVD volumes in June and September 2014. The second season was released on a single volume in February 2018. The third season was shipped in two home video installments in August 2019 and last March.

Shingeki no Kyojin won the 35th Kodansha Manga Awards in the Shounen category and was nominated for the 4th Manga Taisho awards in 2011, as well as the 16th and 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. The manga also placed sixth in the male readers' division in the 2014 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings.

Aot has always been my comfort show ever since I was a kid. As a kid the characters were easy to understand and easy to love. Now I've grown, and I can only thank Isayama for writing this and writing these characters that have always seemed to be there ever since I watched this. I understand them even more now, and there is something so bittersweet about this whole ordeal; they are vastly different from the characters I knew as a kid. Especially Eren. It really feels as if I'm saying goodbye to my childhood (friends).

I'm gonna miss the waiting for every chapter; even though I sort of dropped it during the big gap between seasons 1 and 2, I always came back every now and then for it even though reading the manga was too complex for me to understand. And now I'm hooked, feeling 12 all over again. Thank you, Isayama.

That's pretty interesting. It might be time for me to jump in on the manga considering that Humble bundle has all the volumes on sale for a decent price.

I Dropped AOT, a manga I thought is Unique and the Greatest.

So the final season is only 16 episodes? Or is it like part 1 and part 2.
16 episodes seems to few for final season?

Dunno if I qualify, but I came to know of this magnificent manga almost exactly 8 years ago...
