'Ryouma! The Prince of Tennis: Shinsei Tennis no Ouji-sama' Anime Film Staff, September 2021 Premiere Announced

The Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama Super Stage at the Jump Festa 2021 Online event revealed production staff, a teaser promo, and the first key visual (pictured) for the Ryouma! The Prince of Tennis: Shinsei Tennis no Ouji-sama anime film on Sunday. The 3DCG film, originally scheduled for an early Spring 2020 premiere, will open in Japan on September 3, 2021.

The film will feature an original story that takes place during the three months following the ending of Tennis no Ouji-sama (Prince of Tennis) and the beginning of its sequel Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama (The New Prince of Tennis). Original creator Takeshi Konomi is writing the story, insert songs, and serving as the executive producer.

The original sports manga was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1998 and 2008 and compiled into 42 volumes. The sequel manga began in Jump SQ. the following year. Shueisha released the 31st volume on October 2.

The manga series inspired multiple anime adaptations, the latest of which, Tennis no Ouji-sama: Best Games!! (The Prince of Tennis: Best Games!!), released its third episode on January 28. The original video anime series reanimates some of the most popular matches from the franchise.
