This year's July issue of Monthly Shounen Magazine announced on Saturday that Kouji Kumeta's Kakushigoto (Kakushigoto: My Dad's Secret Ambition) manga will end in the next issue on July 6.

Synopsis
Kakushi Gotou is a somewhat popular manga artist whose works are known for inappropriate content. Because of this raunchiness, when his daughter Hime was born, he vowed to keep his profession hidden from her, believing that she will be disillusioned if she finds out.

This paranoia-induced belief leads Kakushi into hectic situations. Despite being a single father, he does his best and often resorts to extreme ends just to protect his secret, such as guising as a salaryman every day or holding emergency drills in case Hime somehow finds her way to his workplace.

Kakushigoto tells the story of a father and daughter living side by side, maintaining their peaceful existence as the father attempts to preserve the status quo. However, there is a saying: "there are no secrets that time cannot reveal." In time, Hime must learn the reality behind the things she took for granted as she grew up. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Kumeta published a four-page introduction of the slice of life comedy series in Monthly Shounen Magazine in November 2015. The manga began regular serialization in the magazine in December 2015. Kodansha published the 11th volume on March 17 (pictured).

A television anime series produced by Ajia-Do began airing on April 2. Funimation is simulcasting the series with English subtitles. The company also plans to stream an English dub, but it has been postponed indefinitely due to the effects of COVID-19.

Kodansha Comics began publishing the manga digitally in English on March 17. The third e-book volume went on sale on May 19.

I remember reading this back when there were like 30 chapters, a great manga as we're used to of Kumeta. I look forward to reading it to the end once it's finished.
Still mad the anime adaptation wasn't done by SHAFT though, could've been perfect.

@_MushiRock11_ actually it skipped like the in-between chapters (chapters 68 to 83), and as of Episode 10, I don't ever think they'll even bother to adapt those. With only 2 episodes left, it's gunning for the end of the manga instead.

Ah, I see, that’s an understandable move from the team. I’ll make sure to binge those chapters sometime this upcoming week in advance then. Thanks!

Could be wrong on my judgment, but I'm no Japanese manga reader so, fingers crossed. @Chronowarp FYI.

Thanks for the info. @rometrache this is definitely a a good binge read. I loved learning about the comedic struggles of a manga artist

@KANLen09 Awesome, I hope this means the anime will be able to cover all of the manga content then.

Certainly doesn’t feel like we’ve breezed through 95 Chapters, I must say.

Does anybody know how many total chapters the series will have? I've read the 95 that are out, but us that really up to date?
The remaining are all yet to be translated by fansubs, the anime has already surpassed the 95 so far. Not sure about the final number though.

Thanks for the update. Gives me something to look forward to
